Saturday, Sunday, Punday - a New MMP

“The police asked me to help them search the compound of a serial killer who killed and dismembered clowns. I found this humerus.”

Have at it.

Great MMP lead-in. Thanks for starting us off. If I were clever, I’d reply with a pun, but then if I were clever I wouldn’t still be awake.

Well hopefully you can get to sleep soon.

Alcohol is always a solution as any chemist will confirm.

Morning, mumpers! It was lovely and bright when I got up but now it’s gone all cloudy and grey which must indicate that the working day has begun :frowning: Weather app says “Of all the fucking cloudy days, this one is a complete wankface. At last it’s not that cold outside” and promises me 12C/54F up to 15C/58F mostly cloudy.

Puns? I has none…brain is fried from the usual Monday morning crisis. Why do students send urgent red-flagged emails over the weekend when they know we aren’t working, and then have to follow it up on Monday morning by emailing every last person they can think of, so that they get conflicting answers from everyone? If they used the one single point of contact email they’re told to use for their exam-related questions, I would have sorted it out in a couple of minutes instead of spending far too much time correcting everything else.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy(ish) with a predicted high of 84 with possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see. I need to do some errand type stuff this mornin’ so I shall adult up and do so. We have decided to go to the hog trough Golden Corral for a late N.O.L./early sup. Also I have vestry meetin’ tonight. Rah. So I suppose I shall spend the day dressed in proper bein’ about the public attire.

I had a bad night’s sleep. I dreamed I was a muffler and woke up exhausted!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I shall commence to purtify and then don appropriate adult like bein’ about the public attire.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Daughter has an OB appt tomorrow to check on the progress of Baby 2.0. We’re all wondering how its size will compare the Baby 1.0. Smaller babies may be delivered by stork but the heavier ones need a crane.

Is that what you had in mind, doggio??

It’s overcast, but mild this morning. I hope to get some work done outside. If it warms enough, I need to scrub the railings around the back deck. It’s not a difficult job, but it can be messy and I don’t want to be outside in cooler weather getting soaked by the hose. So we shall see. At a minimum, I can sweep the deck.

PT coming around noon to see FCD. He’s been walking with a cane, and occasionally with nothing, but he’s still unsteady and obviously weak. We’ll see what the therapist has to say.

So begins the week. Happy Moanday!!

Had a wonderful weekend with my folks. Remember how I said they were lookin old? Yah, no, I’m tired and sore this morning. We went on three hikes around waterfalls, which is a lot of up and down hiking. My knees are not what they once were. And a round of golf with my Dad. So they may be looking old, but are still doing pretty well.

Anyway, onward to the week.
And stay safe, all!

Just heard the trash truck come a-rattling by. The cats are splitting a can of gooshy food, and I gotta work in an hour.

Onward into Moanday!

I got no puns. My dad was the king of puns. FCM, grandchild number 2???

My credit card was hacked. Fortunately I have alerts when a charge is made. Last night some jamoke charged $1.17 at Amazon. Yes I use Amazon but not with that card. Card has been cancelled and new one is in the mail.

Arrival of #2 was revealed at #1’s 3rd birthday celebration. Due Nov 22 - maybe late next month we’ll know if it’s a boy or a girl. But, yeah, my workload is about to double!

Bummer about the credit card - we dealt with that three times in rapid succession. We’re pretty sure the number was stolen somewhere we stopped for gas between here and Florida. So the last 2 times we went, we used a debit card that had just enough in the account to cover gas. So far, so good. Glad you caught it early - it’s such a nightmare to deal with!

FCD is still abed. I’m reluctant to go back and shower - he has such a hard time sleeping I don’t like to disturb him. And it’s still pretty dreary outside - I’m not eager to head out there. Maybe I’ll crochet in front of the TV till he gets up. Sounds like a plan, right?

Good morning all. Only pun I thought up on my own (albeit probably millions of others did too) is "Have you heard about the new Tolkien movie starring Bruce Willis? It’s going to be called “Old Hobbits Die Hard”/

Thunderbolts and Lighting (not too frightening) last night, but looks to be clearing up today and expect for late Tuesday, dry and in the 70’sF here in North Ali-bama. So soccer gets practiced and I can hopefully survive a couple more Saturdays, then the season ends and…I don’t know.

wet one, good catch, mine haven’t been hacked recently, but my bank caught them the last time and called me. Since then I check the account every couple of days on-line.

VanGo, very glad parents are doing well. But you need to get into shape! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

BooFae, they’re students; it’s part of their makeup to not listen to instructions…hang in there.

OK, back to thinking about doing something, then off for the usual Moanday shop and sammich trip. All y’all take care.

The only pun I could think of was not a pun but some joke my son made about a prosthetic camel. So I had to google puns and came up with “Geology rocks, but Geography is where it’s at.” Sorry about that.

The day is crisp - way too crisp for nearly summer. It’s only 40F and set to get up to just around 65; normally it’d be close to the 90s at this point. But at least it’s super sunny. I’m getting more excited to see my sister tomorrow. I’m going to take her on an early morning hike on Thursday, which will be super fun. I hope. It occurred to me last night, though, while sitting at the table that both my children are now taller than she is. That’ll be a bit of a shock for her. Oh! And I’m going to dinner with my husband tonight for the first time in about a year and a half. Yay!

Anyway, a buttload of meetings awaits me today. I’d really rather not, but I guess I can’t exactly lead with that. “Nah, I’m good.” So…here we go.

Good morning, everyone. How was Mother’s Day for my fellow USAns? I had sent my mother a bouquet of tulips and irises, which she loved. (Apparently, my father and brother are too dense to think of this.) The boys and I gave Mrs Magill a gift card to the local bike shop to get her a new bike. She’s been riding a cheap one we’d gotten a couple of years ago, but last summer we had gotten more serious about riding, and that bike wasn’t cutting it. I knew she would never spend enough on herself to get a decent bike, so somebody had to. Now she has another “fuck cancer” goal.

Dinner last night was Italian take out. Mama wants a stromboli? Mama gets a stromboli.

… And my sister just butt-dialed me. She was using her “principal voice”, so I think someone was in trouble.

Off to pretend to work.

Mid-60s before 7am and a bad case of don’t-wanna-go-there. I am on the bus and nearly at Hades Annex.

Smalls was light, so they sent me to Door 54 to shove boexes and heae irregs. Ow.

: wild applause :

Because some days you just have to gin and bear it.
Welcome back bob bob.

Kitchen has been tidied, carpets have been vacuumed, miscellaneous crap has been put away, and I ran the O’Cedar mop thru the traffic areas of the kitchen. I’m having a pile of leftovers for lunch - broccoli, green beans, and a little piece of pot roast. the physical therapist could get here any time. Then I’ll head out back and start futzing in the garden. Still undecided about the porch railings.

What I really want to do is sit and knit, but chores must be done, so I shall do them. Then I’ll sit.

Horsetails grow all over the place up here. There are a few growing up outside the catio, and Goo thought they might be tasty. Though they can be dangerous to grazing in large quantities, causing vitamin B1 deficiency, Goo only had a little and the squirrels eat them frequently. According to the link, horsetails may have been an ‘important component of herbivorous dinosaur diets.’

Oh, what a wonderful weekend I had! Both my chilluns plus my SIL arrived safe and sound on Saturday. It’d been almost 18 months, thanks to the pandamnic. Hugs! Talk! Food! And lots and lots of laughter.

After my son left (He lives only an hour away and had to get home to feed dogs.), my daughter, SIL, and I had a long talk about her dad. His mental health issues make him a difficult parent to have.

On Sunday, his mom and sister, who drove out with them, came for brunch. So much fun! I spent the rest of yesterday washing dishes (I wouldn’t let them help. They had to get on the road.) and doing laundry. Mom taught me well: when the kids leave, keep busy.

This sounds like a nightmarish Let’s Make a Deal where there are innumerable doors, all containing goats and a year’s supply of denture adhesive.

PT went really well - We like the therapist who came this time much better than the last one. FCD has a pile of exercises to do twice a day, plus she wants him to walk walk walk. After she left, he went to nap, and I went out to play in dirt. Naturally, it started to rain. Dammit. I did get half a dozen sunflowers transplanted and I pulled some weeds, but it’s quite chilly and rain on top didn’t help. I shall resume the position in the recliner and keep afghaning.
