Um, the very end of the credits? Or is it a scene of the pit at Kazad Dum, right before Gandalf and the balrog fall in?
I think it’s the part where I closed my eyes.
Sonofabitch @&%%@! Luckily I’ve learned to save my posts in Word for just such glitches. Here’s my original post:
I check over at TheOneRing.net now and then to see if there are any new pictures from the upcoming The Two Towers movie. Someone has posted some grabs from what I suppose is the new FOTR DVD, which will include some cut footage from the first movie and a trailer to TTT. There are some gorgeous images, most of which I can match up with the corresponding scenes in the book. But for the life of me, I can’t guess what this scene might be.
Some of our most highly-decorated geeks will identify it, I’m sure. Dr. QtM? Fingolfin? (Hey, what happened to Fingolfin?)
If it truly is from FOTR (based on the headline on the page, it could be from TTT) I’d guess that it’s a shot of the elves walking through The Shire just before the hobbits meet them. I think you can see the back of two hobbits in the lower left-hand corner hiding/looking at the elves.
Sauron, that’s exactly what it is. The elves are on their way to The Grey Havens - these are shots from the extended DVD, which is also previewed on the August 6 DVD release. TORN just didn’t separate their images by category.
I think Sauron is probably right. This may be the hobbits from the front, in that same scene. (The elves would be on their way to the Grey Havens, presumably.)
Thanks, Sauron, I’m sure you’re right. What a shame PJ had to cut it to trim down the movie – it looks fabulous.
[Spoiler in upcoming links] I’ve had a chance to look at more of the images. Here’s one I find a little controversial. Since Frodo’s wearing the elven broach, it must be from TTT. Could this be Faramir’s blade?
Here’s the page containing all the images, BTW. They each take awhile to load, at least on my computer, so I haven’t had time to view every single one yet.
