There’s a guy who fully understands the only reason he was employable: his boss’ patronage.
They use the word “boss” which is technically true. He was given much more power than his position would normally hold. The actual chief of the border patrol is the same guy who was there day 1 of the current administration. The chief is also not an impeachable position and not subject to senate approval.
UPDATE: Turns out Obersturmfuhrer Bovino “retired” in order to dodge an Internal Affairs probe over his being a perjurious antisemite.
Of course that should not stop the ordinary criminal prosecution for his actions. “Should” being the operative word here.
The misconduct allegations against Bovino were apparently not criminal in nature.
If it’s not a crime to oversee violent lawless thugs with badges, it sure ought to be.
The Border Patrol is not ICE. But there could be such crimes for Bovino, but the reasons for his resignation have nothing to do with them.
