Important Things With Demetri Martin

Anyone watching this premiere?

I think this show has potential. I already liked his stand up comedy, and this is a good extension of it.

I really like the diamond commercial.

I actually think the exact opposite.
his stand up was simple, clever, and original.
This…this is just masturbation.
He doesn’t seem to be able to handle it, it’s like he’s aware he’s on television.
And the sketches…like…alright, I see why they could be funny, but this is border-line worse than Mad TV (a whole other story)
I appreciate him and his humor, I just think that he’d be better received elsewhere.

I agree. I lost it when they did the “Just Do It” diamond. Just to see what she’ll do. Hee hee

It had its moments. I don’t think it’s a shining moment in television history, but I do think it has potential and will probably get better with some time.

I liked the guy who was way too early for the rave and the stuff at the end with the large pad. I think I liked the time-traveling gigolo a lot more than it deserved to be liked. Trolling for women using google images cracked me up.

It was stoopid. I laughed so hard it hurt.

I liked it. The internet seems to be giving it mixed reviews, but I laughed several times. I especially liked The “We’re In Serious Ring Debt” Ring.

“Worse than Mad TV” must be the worst insult possible for a show.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be tuning in again next week.

I thought it was good. He burned so much material, though, that I have doubts about this format working for him long term.

I like it. It was better than I thought it was. I, too, question it’s long term potential, but I thought the same thing about the Colbert Report.

I enjoyed it. I also liked the concept of having a theme - ‘timing’ this week. I’m gonna keep watching.

I watched the episode last night. His stand up reminded me of Mitch Hedberg. Especially the onion ring joke.

It showed severe first-episode-itis, but enjoyed many of the bits anway. (The ring commericals and last bit, especially.) I think it will pick up steam once he gets more comfortable with the format.

Damnit, was that last night? Well, it’s Comedy Central; they’ll probably repeat it six times during the week.
