In honor of the Simpsons 500th episode...

I can’t not hem and haw… I have lists…

Give me a while to mull it over.

Brother From Another Series.. Funny on so many levels.

I haven’t seen it in a long while, but my favorite was always “Homer’s Enemy” which featured Frank Grimes, who lived above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley. I liked how put out he was by Homer’s success despite his idiocy and laziness.

Treehouse of Horror III. Talking Krusty doll! King Homer! Zombies!

“Marge! The dolls’s trying to kill me and the toaster’s been laughing at me!”

"Hey, I hear we’re going to Ape Island.
“Yeah, to capture a giant ape. I wish we were going to Candy Apple Island.”
"What do they got there?
“Apes. But they’re not so big.”

Rosebud

“Mmmmm 64 slices of american cheese”

Marge Be Not Proud

Ah yes, the rakes.

And “no one who speaks German could be an evil man.”

And LUV and HAT with a line over the A.

“I dooooo!”

My favorite as well.

“Silly customer, you cannot hurt a Twinkie!”

“Are you really the head of the Kwik-E-mart?” “Yes.” “Really?” “Yes.” “You?” “Yes, thank you, come again.”

“Oh great. Christians.”

Monstromart, where shopping is a baffling ordeal.

I just love that episode!

I thought the writers did a nice job on many of the songs from the musical episodes. In particular, “See My Vest” tends to play in my head a lot.

Bart the General

A lot of great ones listed so far, but my favorite is “Lemon of Troy” when Bart went with a bunch of kids to wage war of Shelbyville. So many great lines in it.

“Shake harder, boy!”

Has it been mentioned upthread yet? The classic one where Mr. Burns ran for president, but his campaign went straight down the toilet when he could not eat a piece of “Blinky” the three-eyed mutant radioactive fish on camera.

And I also love Brother From Another Series, since I was and am a big Frasier fan.

My Sister, My Sitter

Definately Bart the Murderer
The first appearance of Fat Tony.

$pringfield.
But, the episode where Selma marries Troy McClure is a close second.

There were two episodes that popped right into my brain meat. So I’ll go with the one with Lingo and Homer getting his thumb cut off and the whole happenstance of the vignettes.*

Homer: “Lingo dead?”

Lingo: “Lingo IS dead.”
*I think I used that word correctly if not just pretend I am smart and I meant to be ironic or something.

It’s tough, but I have to go with Last Exit to Springfield.

Homer: [thinks] Oh, man. I have to go to the bathroom. Why did I have all that beer and coffee and watermelon?
Mr. Burns: Now Homer, I know what you’re thinking. I want to take the pressure off. Now, it doesn’t take a ‘whiz’ to know that you’re looking out for ‘Number One’. Well, listen to me, and you’ll make a big splash very soon.

If forced to pick just one, “A Streetcar Named Marge”.

C E D’oh

Instructor: You there! The naked, greasy, bald, fat man!
Homer: GASP You know everything about me!

error.

Homer: Linguo – dead?

Linguo: Linguo is dead.

episode is 'Trilogy of Error ’
