In honor of the Simpsons 500th episode...

“There’s a doin’s a transpirin’”

It’s a tie between this one and “Cape Feare” for me.

This is mine as well. Homer’s resignation speech while Scorpio fights off the military is hilarious.

Mine is one of the newer ones.

Gone Maggie Gone.

A funny mix of comedy, puzzles, and great Simpsonisms

“Keep off the Grass”
“But hey I’m a sign not a cop”

HA!

OK, I was having a hard time picking one, but now that this one has been mentioned…

Yeah, this one.

My favorite is “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)” in which Homer consumes Guatemalan Insanity Peppers and takes a little trip. The surreal animation is fantastic.

Homer- “Man, this is crazy. I hope I didn’t brain my damage.”

Coyote- “There is a lesson you must learn.”
Homer- “If it’s about laying off the insanity peppers I’m way ahead of you.”

El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer is my favourite as well. Great lines, great animation, the reaffirmation of Homer and Marges’ love and of course the hotpants.

I’m voting this one as well.

“You broke your promise and made a little girl cry. Then I cried. Then Maggie laughed. She’s such a trooper!”

Hands down, Homer Badman.

“Two four six eight, Homer’s crime was very great! Great meaning large or immense, we used it in the pejorative sense!”

I was at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico years ago, watching TV in my room at like 3 in the morning when this episode came on in Spanish. I don’t speak a lick of Spanish, but I realized I knew what they were saying from having watched it so many times. It was my most bizarre Simpsons moment.

“Dicen que es tallado a sí mismo … con una cuchara grande!”

My favorite is the one when Homer stops going to church and the house catches on fire.

“And Maggie Makes Three.” It’s a hilariously funny episode, but ends with one of the warmest, most poignant scenes ever devised for television.

This one was brilliant because “Grimey” was one of the few people who could actually see how absurd Homer was. It was in a way breaking down the fourth wall, as he was reacting like the audience would

These are all great, I should be watching more Simpsons. My pick would be the episode in which they did (and which might for that very reason be titled) ‘Behind the Laughter’.

Also: The Simpson Gene (Lisa: has a process of dumbening already set in? Wait, that’s not how you spell dumbening! Wait - dumbening is not even a word!

And whichever episode embiggened my vocabulary by adding the word ‘cromulent’. And the word ‘to embiggen’!

Lisa the Simpson (Season 9).

Lisa the Iconoclast (Season 7).

Oh you need to do the whole scene…

Homer: [grabbing Marge] Yer gotta redda kid forrad yarrar!
Marge: Homer, what is it? Slow down!
Homer: [slowly] J’yer gedda ferda redderarrar.
Marge: Think before you say each word.
Homer: You broke a promise to your child.
Marge: What?
Homer: You promised Lisa to help her with her costume. You made her
cry. Then I cried. Then Maggie laughed – she’s such a little
trooper.

I came in here to say “Homer the Clown,” but after reading all the posts, I might have to change my mind.

Still, my favorite Simpsons line is “I’m seeing double! Four Krusties!”

This man speaks the truth.

“No…the only monster here is the gambling monster that has enslaved your mother…I call him Gamblor! And it’s time to free your mother from his neon claws!”

The Power Plant softball team. LOVE that Scioscia genuinely enjoyed working at the plant!

no episode made me laugh harder than when the simpsons went to new york to get back the family car barney left at the twin towers after getting drunk outta his mind.
sadly since 9/11 i dont think they’ve ever aired that episode again. least i havent noticed.

the end with homer losing it and gunning the engine w/ the boot still attached to the car and tearing up the street was epic. and my sides were hurting when their leaving the city and the kids are asking if they can go back and homer just grumbles “we’ll see” while getting pelted in the face by garbage falling from the back of a NYC garbage truck infront of him.

I liked the one where the space aliens took over Clinton and Dole’s identities and got elected.
“Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos!”
