Hey guys, can I interrupt with a serious question?
Has anyone tried to collect and catalog the MMP week by week before? I know** Idle Thoughts** has done a fantastic job keeping track of the “Ask the…” threads, but every time he updates it more and more threads have been disappeared due to space-saving thread deletion.
I enjoy a good study on SDMB history, and the MMP should be included in any discussion.
So far I have collected exactly 119 old threads over four years formatted like this:
Date, then title
The OP
The post count on the thread, then the three members with the largest post count in each thread.
Here’s an example using the oldest thread I could find:
06/02/03 I am not a carpenter aunt. (MMP)
OP: welby
Total posts: 177; Top three: welby, Exgineer, swampbear

Although I would list all the MMP’s in order of creation
Would you like some stats? Unofficially, and without crunching numbers I’d say that swampbear has the title for most MMP posts, and FairyChatMom has started the most OP’s.
But really though kiddo’s. Let me know if you’d like to to put together something, or if you’d rather not care. If yes, I may enlist in some help to find some of the MMP things I can’t find/have overlooked.
Hi, everybody. Thank Og It’s Firday indeed!! I went to bed early last night, so just got caught up on everything since dinnertime – after dinner (which was pizza since Papa Tigs didn’t get home till 7:00 p.m., after leaving for work at 5:00 a.m.! :eek: ) I watched TV with Papa Tigs and then crawled in and let Her Majesty purr all over me. But no cat snot, fortunately.
But apparently Papa Tigs opened the back door to let the dogs out when he got up – and then forgot to close it. So when I got up, it was 44° outside and the house didn’t feel a whole lot warmer (except for my bedroom, where fortunately the door was closed to keep the heat in). I’ll have to Speak To Him about that. :rolleyes:
I just took the online Myers-Briggs again for the first time in some years. Interesting. Up till now, I’ve always tested as ENFP, and usually very strong E – but this time I came out as INFP. 22% Introverted, 25% Intuitive, 62% Feeling, 44% Perceiving. Apparently my desire to avoid people really has been getting stronger in recent years.
I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to deliberately twist your stitches, Shadow. And you actually kinked your Knit Picks cable? I didn’t know that was possible! That pattern looks fun. I’ve got a moebius cowl pattern, too, that I’ve never tried, but one day I probably will. In the meantime, I looked through lots of your yarn photos, and I must say we have virtually identical tastes in colors. You have some gorgeous yarn there! I really should take photos of more of my yarn; it’s easier to remember that way. I love drooling over pretty yarns. (Which probably explains my stash!)
Time to get back to doing something constructive. Like drinking more coffee.
bb, that’s very interesting. It’s practically a catalogue of some of our lives. I think rosie bookmarks all of them. I’ve thought of doing it, but I never get organized enough.
I think I might put the goulash on, and then run off and try to find a copy of Buffy season 3 at the maul. I don’t want to be at home. It’s too nice out.
Random fact. Out of the 81 most replied to MMP’s you carry the title of being one of the top three posters in seven of them.
Well, there’s your problem. You shouldn’t let her inside your skull, there’s too much in there for them to mess up. … Or is there?
I’m not surprised. A huge number of my idiotic post count has been spent in the MMPs.
Back from the Maul. Time to wash dishes and wonder why my browser has reformatted itself. All sorts of Christmas decorations are up. I’m trying to ignore them. I refuse to decorate for Christmas before December.
This is fascinating in an odd sort of way. I stumbled in to the MMP about 2 years ago(?) and have been fairly faithful ever since. I came as Rue was leaving. (gah, was it something I said?). I think I’ve only been the OP for 3 MMPs.
It’s nice to know my magnum opus will live on…
I am NOT wasting my day reading or surfing. I am very busy and important today–I’ve run my errands, and have started cleaning the dining room for Tgiving. I am listening to the soundtrack of Hairspray. Loud.
I need to: make curtains for the kitchen garden window (the fabric’s been staring at me for a month); get the rod for the DR hung(the husband) and the swag up; DO my grad school homework; grocery shop (tomorrow), make groc list (today); dust, vacuum DR and LR; clean computer room; scrub leaf residue off front porch; empty last of summer pots; laundry; deliver a wedding present.
I can’t remember anything else. I’m tired already. Half of this stuff could have been done last week, but NO-I had to push it all off. :rolleyes: No wonder I’m not a millionaire/rich society dame/married to some exec who makes millions…
My MB should read INTJP–P for procrastinator!
Just for giggles, I did the linked M-B (plus I can’t recall what I scored the one time I did it for real, since it was eons ago…) and this time I came up slight **ENT ** STRONG J. That, apparently, is the code for I’m nice, dammit! 
Glad the week is over. I’m thinking PapaJohn will be making supper.
Today was kinda fun at work. The Rec Committee sponsored a Turkey Shoot, and 2 of the members dressed up as (well-padded) turkeys and allowed themselves to be shot with paintballs. They raised close to $200, whereas in the past when they just used paper targets, they’d barely clear $20. One of the turkeys was having way too much fun - he was almost dancing out there!
Apart from that, it was a boring day and I’m glad to be home. Gonna change into grubbies and head to my studio to finish underglazing my last few pieces. I’ve got a penguin, a monster, 3 snowmen hats, and a pitcher to decorate. Then I can load the kiln and chill.
Oh yeah, and make 2 more watermelon pot holders for my mom. And send the directions to MamaTigs, because until this very moment, I forgot I was s’posed to… :o
I also made an executive decision - I’m taking next Weds off, so I’ll only have a 2 day work week. Go me!
bb, I, for one, would be fascinated with stats from the MMP. I’m a fairly recent joiner, too, about the time Rue left - just like rigs.

I just looked waaaaaaay back and saw what I believe is Rue’s first MMP, in that it’s a post he originated on a Monday morning (Nov 19, 2001), then he started another on Nov 26, and by Dec 3, it was already referred to as a MMP.
There was one on Nov 12, but it didn’t seem to fit the spirit of the MMP, and there may have been more before then, but the search returns start at Nov 1, and **Rue ** joined in Feb 01, so maybe the real original MMP is lost to the ages??
But what the heck - can we declare November 19, 2001 as the birth of the MMP? All in favor?

I’ve tried to make lists of MMP posters before. I always forget people. And then feelings get hurt and stuff. I know I’ve been MMPing since at least 2003 because I remember posting soon after I got married, and already knowing most of the then-current regulars.
My cats have run out of food in their dish, and think they’re starving. Aerin is jumping on and off my lap and being plaintive. She gets all cuddly and manipulative when she thinks she’s wasting away from hunger. Given her current waistline she wouldn’t die even if we didn’t feed her for a week.
Drat. I just walked over to the grocery store, and dropped a bag on the way back. The bag I dropped had a nice jar of dulce de leche in it. Which shattered. Aargh.
Speaking of my ServSafe Safety and Sanitation class… The results are in today and I got 100% !!

We got cold this morning. Into the 40s which is as cold as I can stand it. No, yellin from up there in Canada and the Rockies. I know 'zactly how cold it gets where your at…so there!
I took that test. It says I’m a ESTJ (Supervisor). I am shocked I tell you. That doesn’t sound like me at all. Particularly because I am not a “joiner.” So I think the whole thing is busted. YMMV.

Oh boy, the MMP Birthday next Monday? What shall we all do to celebrate? Besides our usual randomness and pointnessness, obviously.
May I please throttle M. at the reporting firm? She emails me info on some files that she’s uploaded to the server for me to pick up and work on. Except that (a) the file that’s about a guy named Smith* is named 1001, and she’s surprised I have to ask her which file it is ( :rolleyes: ) and (b) the file she says is about a guy named Jones is accompanied by an info sheet saying it’s about a guy named Johnson, and she’s surprised I feel it necessary to ask about it. :rolleyes: She’s a nice young woman, but she drives me crazy at times, especially on Firday afternoon when she’s rushing to get out of the office and gets even flakier than usual. And her normal state of flakiness could give Betty Crocker a run for her money. :rolleyes:
It’s gotten downright chilly out there. I ran a few errands and took the Idiots for a ride, but then when we got home Isaac still needed some playtime, so I sat out in the by-then shaded back yard to throw his Kong. I was ready to wrap myself in a blanket before I was done. Thank heaven for my slippers that I can heat up and toast my toes with; I now have happy toasty toes again. No thanks to the Idiots.
Added, and I will look closer at his threads to see which ones fit; which means I will probably have to take a look at some of your old threads as well as welby’s.

Blurg. I don’t feel so good. 
I think I ate something that didn’t agree with me on Wed. and then I irritated my stomach by not sticking to easy-to-digest foods for long enough. So I’m still experiencing intestinal distress. Yuck.
I haven’t done the M-B test in a long time but I always was ISTJ.
Normally I really like grocery shopping too, but I’m skipping it tonight and heading straight home to some chicken-flavored ramen (instead of chicken soup because I like it better). See everyone next week when hopefully my stomach is more settled.
Great idea, bbs2k! Rue started all the OPs (except for a couple of guest-started MMPs like the one by welby that you linked to) until he stopped being a stay-at-home dad in September of…2005, I think it was. I know I went back at one point and read some old ones. I found them by looking for threads started by Rue DeDay in MPSIMS. November 2001 sounds about right (based on my foggy memory of searching; I’ve got a search going in another tab right now and will report back later).
Anyway…McUne is starting us off on Monday and I think she was planning to ask us to post pictures, which seems like a fitting way to celebrate our anniversary. Maybe we can even coax Rue into issuing an official anniversary message and/or proclamation.
I’ve been reading the MMP since sometime in 2004 and finally got brave and posted something in early 2005, I think. Also, I’ve actually met Rue. Twice, even.

rigs seems to be taking over the world today. Too much Myers-Briggs, I’m afraid. I took another test from a different website. Came out something totally different, which I found rather amusing. INTJ sounded about right to me.
