We definately need naps in the middle of the day. It’s a proven fact that teenagers require more sleep and we’re the ones who get up at six to get to 1st period. By sixth or seventh period, we’re dragging ourselves down the hall. Meanwhile, the kindergardeners are painting each other down at the elementary school. ::shakes head in disbelief and envy::
We have a pretty sympathetic staff, though. If you have a free period you can go to the nurses’ office and lie down for 42 minutes.
Personally, I’m a fan of taking naps around 3 o’clock on a weekday. The sheets are cool but not cold. The comforter is light. The room is a twilight blue and it’s absolutely silent. There’s nothin’ like it.
I would love to have naps. But once I wake up in the morning, short of taking half a bottle of sleeping pills, I can’t get back to sleep until AT LEAST midnight… even thugh my mother forces me to bed at ten. I’ve always wondered what naps were like…
Wanna see my daughter get really cheezed off at me?
Cite, please.
Yes, you get up at six, but your mother and I get up at 5:45, and we’re not exactly lounging on the sofa eating bon bons and perusing the Social Register all day.
Just kidding, love. Actually, between school, work, homework and all the theatricals you’re involved in, I am amazed that you function at all. I can’t begrudge you the occasional FOUR-HOUR MARATHON NAP from time to time.
I used to have a school schedule which started around 8 or 10 and ended at 1 every day 'cept Friday, which I had off (lots of double credit classes and incredible luck).
My favourite favourite thing to do (still is, though I can’t do it wuite as consistently) is to lie down when the sun is shining brightly and just doze off. The sun is really key, otherwise I wake up groggy and not refreshed. If I wake up past about 4, I’m zonked for the rest of the day.
Dammit, now I’m dying for nap, but I need to write an essay…
