The charge was that Hillary lost because of hacking and disinformation campaigns. AFAICT the hacking revealed facts, not disinformation. The only bit of disinformation that helped defeat Hillary was bad polling data that made Hillary believe she could spend all her time raising money in Silicon Valley and Wall Street.
I don’t know what sort of Kim Kardashian/Jersey Shore channels you watch but its about the only thing I am seeing on CSPAN an NPR. This is definitely bad as in we are approaching high crimes and misdemeanors" bad but I think its getting coverage.
So, you don’t know that Donna Brazile fed CNN debate questions to Hillary?
If this story had been revealed after the first debate, do you think Hillary would have won the primary as easily? And the Flint water question was not the only thing that was leaked to the Hillary campaign.
If Donald Trump had gotten emails from Fox giving him debate question before the Fox debate, would you still think it wasn’t cheating?
Hillary is a cheater, doesn’t make Trump any better but its part of why she lost.
OK, not sure what that has to do with my post but once you establish that the DNC is in cahoots with the Hillary campaign, it casts a shadow over the entire primary.
I didn’t mention the Clinton foundation either but just a few thoughts:
The foundation employs her political operatives in the off season. Which is fine by me. The criticism isn’t that the Clinton Foundation is fraudulent (like Trump’s foundation). The criticism is that the Clinton Foundation was pay for play. It was a way for monied interests to gain access to the Clinton. The criticism started when the Hillary state department approved the Keystone XL pipeline after a large donation by parties related to TransCanada. I supported the Keystone XL pipeline but it looked pretty shady. Now, only a few months after the election, donations to the foundation have shriveled to a tiny fraction of what it was pulling in when access to the Clintons was actually worth something.
She was actively saying that she believed in border enforcement and told the bank of brazil that she believed in open borders. Was she lying on the campaign trail or lying to the Bank of Brazil?
Talking out of both sides of your mouth like that makes a lot of people suspect that she was saying all sorts of nice things to Wall Street in the aftermath of the financial collapse then burning them when she is running for president. I wouldn’t blame her for being complimentary to the people paying her a quarter million dollars for showing up to shake a few hands and saying how nice she thinks everyone is. But when she failed to reveal the text of those speeches, it makes you wonder exactly how complimentary she was.

The Republicans held 42 Senate seats at the time; if they’d been even moderately hard party line, they could have gotten 34 votes to acquit.
Frankly, it is unlikely they would have gotten 20 acquittal votes. Maybe not 15; Barry Goldwater told Nixon he would not get more than 18, and that was just on the day he went to tell Nixon the bad news. Without any pressure from the party leadership; it was 20-25 Republican Senators independently deciding “fuck this guy.” Had Nixon put up a fight and forced impeachment proceedings, quite honestly I doubt he’d have gotten ten acquittal votes. They didn’t call the “smoking gun” tapes that because the evidence was unclear. Goldwater did not so much pressure Nixon to resign as present him with the simple facts; the Senate was going to convict Nixon, and Goldwater himself would vote to convict. The Republican House Leader, Hugh Scott, was there as well, and told Nixon his party would abandon him in the house.
1974 was a different time. When it was beyond serious doubt Nixon was a crook, Republicans reached for their knives; he was their President, but a crime was a crime and their duty as Congresspeople was clear. It’s not like that now. Now they place duty to party and ideology above the law. The likes of Barry Goldwater would struggle to comprehend the politics of 2017.
The campaign was rotten with fake “facts” originating from russia and picked up by right wing media, either knowingly or as dupes. It didn’t have to do with leaked “truth” or anything. And it was amplified by Hillary haters hyperbole, and fear of vaginas, presumably. It is still happening even now believe it or not.
Now use the word “retarded” and you can make it all go away.
About “leaked truth”. It is my understanding that the primary impact of the release of DNC hacking was to pour gasoline on the fire between Bernie and HRC supporters. Did infuriating the Bernie backers affect the Democrat base and the eventual electoral outcome?
Well, sure. Wasn’t actually a lie, though, it was truth with malign intent. I think Putin’s primary goal was to promote anger against HRC, who he blamed for supporting Russian dissent movements.

So Comey was fired because he blabbed too much about Hillary’s investigation prior to the Election? How considerate of Donald. He’s apparently forgiven Hillary, and will surely encourage his supporters to no longer chant “Lock her up!”
