In Praise of the Obamessiah, and other developments of the Sally Yates testimony

He already did that months ago.

“That plays great before the election – now we don’t care, right?”

Yeah, kinda like how, after announcing that the investigation was being reopened because more e-mails had been found, Trump called Comey courageous and said “it took guts”.

It was brave. A guy could get fired for doing something like that.

I was responding to a post that claimed:

“Hillary won 3,000,000 popular votes more than Trump. That’s not a crushing, that’s a dominant performance which lost on a cheap, outdated technicality.”

This was in response to a post by the OP making fun of the fact that the Russian probe is largely about hacks that revealed embarrassing facts about Hillary.

Once again, in what way is the feeding of debate questions to the Hillary campaign, “fake news”?

In what way was the DNC scheming to undermine Bernie “fake news”?

In what way was Hillary’s speech to the Bank of Brazil that was in direct contravention to what she was claiming on the campaign tail “fake news”?

So, I will ask again, what vagina-phobia driven disinformation campaign are you talking about? Because AFAICT the stuff that really hurt Hillary were facts. Like the fact that she is a horrible candidate, could be a great person, still a horrible candidate.

Since when did truth become the enemy of this board? Oh that’s right, when it tilts against the liberals.

If the primary impact of the revelation of facts about Hillary and her campaign widened the rift between Bernie and Hillary supporters (those fucking Bernie whiners complaining that Hillary cheated just because they have proof that she cheated), then the primary impact of the access Hollywood story was to widen the perceived rift between Trump and a decent human being. It was a truth with similarly malign intent, no?

You either go where the facts take you or you pick and choose facts that will take you where you want to go.

The Russia probe was a fishing expedition but it sure looks like it caught something. It was a lot of hot air until now, but now the smoke is visible and prudence dictates that we investigate for fire.

How exactly did pizzagate affect the election?

Brain injury? I’ve never heard this on NPR or CSPAN. Perhaps I should start watching the trashy Kim Kardashian stations you do. But for every news story claiming Hillary had a brain injury that you can produce, I can produce 5 news stories talking about the DNC email hack. Whatever story there might have been about Hillary’s brain injury, it was not driving votes anywhere near as much as her cheating.

Paid protesters, never heard the story. I doubt it was convincing to anyone that wasn’t already inclined to vote for Trump. Do you really think that this story had anything close to the effect on the election that getting debate questions ahead of the debate had?

AFAICT, pizzagate didn’t enter the public consciousness until after the election when that crazy guy drove to New Jersey with a bunch of guns and found out the pizza parlor in question didn’t have a basement.

Another fucking snowflake who prefers an echo chamber to inconvenient truths.

I provided links. What news source would you trust because I’m pretty sure every fucking news organization in America covered this story.

What am I making up? Am I making up the story about the emails?

I suspect that if a similar story about cheating by the Trump campaign with the exact same amount of proof surfaced about Trump, you would be screaming bloody fucking murder. Facts are stubborn things. Hillary cheated, if this fact had been revealed early in the primary process, I bet it would have had an effect on the primary. Bernie might still have lost but Hillary would still be a cheater. Maybe Biden would have taken the opportunity to step into the race.

Only in a liberal echo chamber would anyone mistake me for a “rightie”

Is liberal hypocrisy a defensible thing?

If liberals are mad about the conservative’s casual relationship with the truth, they really should have a closer relationship with the truth themselves.

The new Acting Director of the FBI will be testifying today before the Senate Intelligence Committee (the same bunch Yates testified to.)

Among the questions facing him is whether Comey had requested more funds for the Russia investigation recently. Comey told the committee that he did, but the DOJ is denying it.

And yet… the crazy guy had heard of it. There were stories out there.

Yates testified before the Judiciary committee not Intelligence. It’s hard to separate the congressional Russia hearings without a program.

Well its not on this list of fake news websites.

It seems partisan and sensationalist. But I don’t see any fake news on the home page. Unless you think that a conservative website calling Obama disloyal to America “fake news”

In short, its a trash website and I die a little inside knowing that they probably get more clicks than NPR and CSPAN combined.

Do you think that the pizzagate story changed his vote? Because AFAICT, all the disinformation that people are talking about was only credible to people to people who were going to vote for Trump already. I mean seriously. Was there anyone that was on the fence or even not really interested in voting at all who decided they had to vote for Trump because Hillary was running a white slavery rings out of the basement of a new jersey pizzeria?

The “liberal hypocrisy” thing stopped being a valid argument the year it was revealed that Rush Limbaugh was a drug addict, Bill Bennett was a compulsive gambler, and that Strom Thurmond had a half-black offspring.

(Not saying that libs can’t be hypocrites, mind you, but the phrase implies a certain linkage.)

Don’t you mean Maryland?

New Jersey?
