In a Pit thread on post counts a while back E-Sabbath brought up an interesting question.

Well, I found someone close. This got me to wondering who the lurker supreme is, the DopeNess Monster, sighted so infrequently as to be more myth than reality. Thusfar I’ve been unable to search for this type of thing with my limited search-fu. If it’s unsearchable, I thought it might be fun to have a place to post sightings of the rarely sighted, and to see who can find the least prolific poster.
I’m pretty sure I saw someone in “Comments on Cecil’s Columns” a few months ago whose join date was '99 or '00 with around 13 posts, but that’s an unconfirmed sighting.
So for now I’ll ante up other-wise. Joined in aug 1999, total posts 130, PPD 0.06 (as of this post).

Mike Lenehan joined on 2-19-99, has five posts for a PPD average of 0.00, and was last active on 2-07-05

Ladies and Gentlemen, for generations this creature was thought only a legend! Sightings were rumored from days of yore, a creature most foul who terrorized these fora when your father’s father’s father’s father feared only two things. One was the boogeyman! The other?

Mike Lenehan is also a “member”, not a “charter member”. I’m not really sure what that means, but I do feel it compromises his status in this quest.
Sonya looks pretty good, although she may no longer be around. masafer is a good candidate, with 55 posts since May 99. The shadowy sekhmet is another remarkably unprolific poster, or prodigeous lurker, or, uh, you know what I mean. King Eumemes II of Pergamum, with 27 posts since March of '99 and a low low PPD of .01 definitley gets some kind of honorable mention. Maybe he can be DopeFoot, or BigDope, or something. Thanks to Captain Gutgore Blooddrink for the “sighting”. Anyone else spotted any rarely seen Dopers lately?

Well, in the case of Mike Lenehan, it’s entirely plausible that he’s a cover identity for Cecil Adams, same as Ed Zotti, a nom d’editeur, as it were. :smiley:

Perhaps the issue of the identity of the ultimate Yetilurker will be brought to trial, and you’ll be selected for the jury? :wink:
