In the history of the SDMB has anyone ever been wrong about more things than adaher?

I’d say the single biggest reason for the drop in crime over the last 20 years is that the largest age group in this country, Baby Boomers, have just been getting too old to run around raising hell, burglarizing, etc… Between their bodies getting old, and the natural process of maturing through life experience, they’ve calmed down and mostly just joined society.

In addition, the unreformable criminals among the Boomers are mostly locked up for good, too…they have rap sheets that are so long that judges and parole boards are not eager to let them out.
Just my 2 cents.

Changes in policing methods have probably helped, too. Heck, just cleaning up NYC back in the 90s probably made a small but noticeable dent in the national crime stats. ROFL

In case you’re not reading your other Pit thread, I’ll repeat a post full of free advice:

Based on adaher’s decision to open a “You’re all big meanies and that’s worse than my perpetual ignorance”* thread, BigT has to be somewhere in that lineage.

Well, I don’t know how you all were brought up, but in civilized society, rudeness is a bigger crime than not being too bright. And usually the rudest intellectuals are the ones who aren’t really all that intellectual.

And what is the rudeness factor of deliberate propagation of false information and propaganda? From my perspective, the problem is not just that you’re often wrong, adaher, but that you show a reckless disregard for the truth and you do it with the intent of forwarding your political goals. That’s reprehensible.

That’s quite an accusation. You should follow your own advice and back that one up.

I don’t have to back up an opinion.

Here’s one chosen from many, easily found and shows an absolute disregard for the truth, dropped in with the hope it wouldn’t be spotted.

You knew it wasn’t true and there was no reason to drop that nugget in.

For starters, you seem to accept the science of global warming, but you do know that Tea Partiers are just voting against any reforms or against the EPA when it deals with the issue.

To me it is very rude that you are are willing to distribute the false information and propaganda of deniers that will make life harder for the future generations.
Then there was the time where I pointed at evidence that you depended on racist sources or groups to make points about the ICE lawsuit against Obama and the dreamers.

To me it is very rude that you are are willing to distribute the false information and propaganda of racists and birthers.
And so on, in general it is very rude from you to even make the point that there is no problem on using them as sources, the problem then is that you also claim that you do not agree with the science deniers or racists. But, even in those situations when confronted with the evidence, you never tell us if you got the message of why the use of those sources is bad business, or that you continue to trust those politicians and groups that give you that flawed information simply because they have an (R) next to their name.

People can only conclude that you will continue to do the rude thing and use those sources in the future even when you are aware of the bullshit they push, that is what happens when you do not acknowledge that it was a mistake to use them.

No you do not, fair enough.

Here’s a great example of what a bubble can do to people. It should have been absolutely clear that that was snark.

Ever hear ofPoe’s Law?

Yes on both counts, although I reject the proposed solutions for climate change just as the Tea Party does. Likewise, I reject the anti-evolution views of many conservatives, but I still cleave to them more because of their better views on freedom of religion. They aren’t trying to prosecute teachers who teach evolution anymore, and the textbook wars are being fought by zealot liberals as much as by zealot religious conservatives. I have perfectly valid reasons for supporting the side I do on these issues despite the fact that their thinking is muddled.

If I was distributing false information, that would be pretty rude. But it’s not like I’m linking to denier sites. YOu just seem to think I’m bad for supporting the Tea Party. Which, taken to its logical conclusion, means you don’t think Tea Partiers should even be here.

The ICE lawsuit is a legitimate issue, and the sources you deemed racist were not, IMO. I understand that you view mainstream conservatism as racist by its very nature, and that’s fine. However, if you’re offended by conservatives presenting their cites and arguments here, I suggest Democratic Underground.

I get it, I just think that if you were exposed to more conservative humor, you would have figured it out. Instead, you’ve probably heard caricatures of Glenn Beck and other conspiracy theory types who talk about FEMA camps. So you reasonably figured I must be one of those types.

I read more liberal blogs than conservative blogs. While that apparently hasn’t made me any smarter, it has made the other side less unfamiliar.

I notice an unfortunate tendency on the part of most liberals to not even want to explore the mind of conservatives, thinking it a dark, superstitious, hateful place. And sometimes it is! There’s also a lot of liberals who are strident, angry, and have incredibly weird theories about the way the world works. But there are also a lot of intelligent liberals who I read avidly, like Matt Yglesias, Kevin Drum, and Ezra Klein.

The blind can not lead the blind adaher, and that leadership should be reduced for a minion that can see. A minion that can see should look for better leaders.

And indeed they should not.

Sure, double down on your rudeness, it is clear that you do not care that racists are making your talking points and so your rude show will continue.

Your attempt at making a point here only succeeded on showing all that besides that you are only rely on straw men, I never said that mainstream conservative is racist, only the sources that you used during the ICE discussion.

And the source was Heritage, was it not?

Direct quote from Michelle Bachmann.

Some other loonies.

Well, you’ll never see me accused Bachmann of being very smart. Hopefully now you’ll realize that despite my other issues, I’m not part of that scene.

No. You even forget who the cites I posted were referring to. It was NumbersUSA and Kobach the birther as the ones pushing and making the press releases that told you how Obama was negotiating a settlement because the judge was going to invalidate everything that he was doing for the Dreamers.

Not what you should use as champions.

Bachmann might be going to jail.
