Hey, I thought he was leaving…
I am so stealing this.
You mean fractal wrongness?
I agree it’s bizarre, but it’s so common it has its own term. Human beings suck.
No, I didn’t mean fractal wrongness (although that has applied on occasion too).
This is more about breadth of wrongness than depth, wrongness on a wider range of subjects. A Renaissance man of wrongitude, if you will.
This is one of those very rare occasions that I want a “like” button.
I think I see what you mean.
Although, in a weirdly meta way, it’s still fractal wrongness. Just applied on a whole other order of magnitude. It’s awe-inspiring, in a NASCAR crash, answering “does this dress make me look fat” sort of way.
Given the thread title, you have to admit, the odds he’d back into a factually correct statement appear fairly poor.
Although I have to admit to crushing disappointment upon learning that he’d been mistaken with this proclamation also…
I did too, but on the other hand, that information came from him.
So his post was his cite.
And it was still wrong.
He’s one of those mildly annoying characters who will look you directly in the eye, and in a clear, unwavering and confident voice declare, the green idea sleeping furiously.
Maybe Me?
He never said he was leaving, just that he would post less. Although I suspect it was an incomplete sentence and he meant he would post less intelligently.
Is that possible?
“The better places just don’t need a Pit.”
You go on ahead. We’ll be right behind you.
Clearly, he enjoys a challenge.
I’d venture most posters would feel Adaher’s leaving would be the preferred pick out of the various scenarios that would result in his posting less… Poll time ?
Despite how I feel about adaher’s contributions, that’s a real bad idea and precedent to set.
And would no doubt be shut down in no time.
If it weren’t him, it would be someone else. Every once in a while, Goddess alone knows why, somebody wanders in and applies for the position of SDMB Conservative Gadfly Who Mocks the Foibles and Pretensions of Lefties. An actual sense of humor is, apparently, too much to ask for, and we should simply be generous and mindful of their limitations.
You know, we probably need some of that, but when Adaher enters a thread (as has been mentioned previously) it feels like the thread goes to hell in a handcart. Instead of exploring whatever valid POV might be in opposition to the conventional SD wisdom, he just brings knee-jerk oppositionality rather than any quality or real contribution. Reminds me of that old saying “He’s frequently wrong, but never uncertain!”
He’s the political equivalent of lekatt.
