I’m inclined to agree. While I did say in another thread that I question the merits of antagonizing Trump into following through on his worst impulses, the actual insult doesn’t mean anything to him. He’s been called worse and as Cohen points out, you can’t out-bully the bully. There is no special name of the beast that will cause him to disintegrate once it is said in front of him.
TACO itself isn’t actually even meant as an insult. It’s traders adapting to chaos. They are planning how to move money around based on Trump always chickening out. It’s not a slogan of resistance, it’s a slogan of capitalism.

Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent there. Just to be clear, I wasn’t trying to cancel Taco or make it appear as though you didn’t pass some virtue test for not knowing. The unexpected Taco reference just brought a sudden memory and I shared it without thinking. Though I should have expected a Taco reference, so that’s on me.

Serious question for a moment: has anyone studied what happens to narcissists during the onset of cognitive decline? I know we can’t diagnose him either either, but he certainly displays some very strong symptoms of both (though I couldn’t say what type of cognitive decline / dementia). Does mental decline hasten or prevent narcissistic collapse, or no effect? What about the narcissistic personality in general?
I don’t have a citation handy for it but Dr. Gartner who had a Youtube channel all about Trump’s demented brain said that as the dementia progressed Trump would lose what little control he has left and would say increasingly absurd things.
