Woo-hoo! Go '68!
It’s a public poll.
That was my first thought which is embarrassing.
Born in 1986 You all are making me feel so young
I can legitimately have “69” in my usernames.
But I don’t, because it’s lame.
I’m a Baby Boomer - I was born in 1974, as part of the post-1973 war baby boom.
Alessan, you are NOT a baby boomer. Oh wait… I just read your second sentence.
One more for 1965-1970.
Oh yeah! So, Pixel_Dent is our resident seven year old, eh? Good to know.
I also thought it was a very nice bell curve.
It was a mistake to make this a public poll; lots of us don’t want to announce this type information.
- I’m just a kiddo.
You have a point, but at least 200 people don’t agree.

I was born in Feb 1975, just four weeks after my mom turned 20!
Mom was a big fan of Olivia Newton-John and she listened to “Let Me Be There” and “If You Love Me (Let Me Know)” constantly while she was pregnant with me…
I was the ONLY kid in the 1st grade (or in the state of Georgia, probably) who had a Xanadu lunchbox! And those old ONJ songs always put me in a good mood even now…
It may still be too early to make any definitive statements about the “average age” of SDMB participants, but here are a couple ways to look at it:

1961 here. From the statistical distribution of this limited sample, if this is representative of The Dope then I’m older than most here and will continue to be so.
- I’m surprised that about 85% of the people here are older than me.
snailboy, you were born 2 years after I graduated high school. Enjoy these next 20 years. They’ll go by fast enough, God willing, and before you know it you’ll be 50
I’m always amused when I go to view a videogame trailer, and the company wants to know my date of birth (usually because the game contains “mature content”), and the popup list of years starts with 2012 (or whatever last year happened to be. Yup, I’m sure there are a lot of 1-year-olds wanting to watch these videos…
Anyway, I was born in the 1966-1970 group. Interesting to see that’s the largest group so far.
- I’m such a small child.
