I have a Sony Ericsson T616. It’s an OK phone, and has a camera and Bluetooth and such. But once every few days, the keypad just locks up. I try to take the keyguard off, and it won’t let me. I try to mash other buttons, and it doesn’t even give me the “keypad locked. Press Unlock to unlock” message.
What I’ve been drooling over since it came out is the Motorola MPx220. No, I’m not kidding. I almost bought this phone last year, but it costed slightly more than this other phone that looked OK. Now I regret my decision.
I just thought that you guys might want to hear me complain about the status of my cell phone life.
Hey, I have the T616 and it’s worked pretty well for me for the past year. Maybe you got a bad one? I’ve dropped mine enough times to put some nice big gouges in the plastic and it’s still functioning as well as ever.
Bluetooth is a way to wirelessly connect to other devices. You’ll see bluetooth headsets and bluetooth dongles so you can connect to your computer and such.
Why in heck would my cell phone and puter ever need to talk with each other? I don’t think I want my electronic devices talking to each other. They could start plotting a takeover.
Wireless headsets, the ability to act like a PDA… if you have a list of phone numbers on your computer, you can have it synchronize with your phone… and intensely cool car hookups. Just sit down in your car and presto, the bluetooth car hookup communicates with your phone for a handsfree environment.
I have a cheap little basic Nokia somenumbers and it freezing up on me every so often just like a computer. I have to remove the battery to reboot it and that’s always a pain in the butt. I had no idea that they used Windows.
I do it because I can take pictures and send them to my computer for free, instead of emailing them to myself, which costs money, and because I can download/make ringtones, and then send them to my phone for free, instead of spending 2 or 3 dollars a ringtone.
Bluetooth is a mostly self-configuring, wireless, proximity based network that allows a wide variety of different devices within range to communicate with each other and will work on things ranging from keyboards to PDAs to headphones to mobile phones.
Named after Danish Viking King Harald Bluetooth, the name of the network is supposed to originate from his mission of expanding communication and influnence of Danish Vikings into other countries, such as Norway.
Yeah, but that costs mooooney. And I don’t get paid until May 2, and IT’ll only be a 3.5 hour paycheck. And 75 dollars gets taken out for stock purchase. So there.
I don’t use at least 75% of the techgeeky stuff my phone can do, don’t know how and have never felt a need to bother learning.
But you know what one stupid thing I would like? A way to sub-divide the directory. Scrolling thru Candace, Carly, Carolyn, Chris J, Chris S, Christine, etc just to get to Dave is dumb.
I’m being stalked? COOL! Maybe I need to start a few threads then. I sorta do understand the concept of having all this stuff be interactive. Some of it sounds good. Some of it I can’t think of a reason for me ever wanting to do it. Then again, I keep forgetting to load in the software so I can use my digital camera and web camera on my new puter. Yet I keep taking pics with the digital cam, so go figure.
Our family does not have a cell phone. Swampy is astounded by the fact that my daughter does not have a cell phone and hasn’t really expressed an interest in one. However, we will be getting one soon.
Yesterday is a perfect example of why we need one. Hubby had been harrassing me all week to meet him and the kids at the dock yesterday after work. The kids got out of school early and they took the boat out to go tubing and skiing. So, I went to the dock…and waited…and waited…and waited…for over an hour until I became thoroughly disgusted, left a note on the hubby’s windshield and went home. If we had cell phones I could have called him and he would have swung by the dock.
Maybe this weekend, if we’re not too busy with our social plans we’ll pick one up.
