In Which I Pit the Reporter Who Godwinizes the Vancouver Olympics

You’re ashamed that people left a sporting event early to beat the traffic?

At least Hitler alleviated my suffering by killing himself. You sir are still power tripping over us.

Now show some respect.

No

When I went to my daughters’ graduation ceremonies, I suffered significant physical discomfort by remaining in my seat to participate for the sake of all the other graduates and their families.
The enormous effort that these German women put out to get to that podium deserved to be acknowledged and cheered as much as the previous Canadians and if you can’t see that then I truly feel sorry for you.

Comparing Canada to the Nazi’s “wasn’t meant to offend Canada”?

Reporter Gil Lebreton is basically a modern day Hitler. But I don’t mean that in a bad way.

Imagine if he had found out about our death camps!

“Well, I won the gold, but the fucking Canadians all walked out instead of cheering, the bastards.” Yeah, not seeing it.

Why is it okay to walk out on the third period of a Canadiens game but not during the last Olympic event of the day? Do other athletes not put forth enormous effort?

Such tremendous pathos you must suffer. How do you stand under the burden?

Fort Worth. That’s Texas, right?

Sorry, it seems like I can’t help you.

Seriously, do you not see the difference?

Would you suggest that the NHL set up a podium for the winning team and play the national anthem of the winning city each and every game ?

But, I really liked him in The Last Picture Show.

It ain’t heavy.

Hey, that’s the Thames in London, ON. Is she any relation to Ontario’s Attorney General of the same last name who comes from London, ON?

Exactly.

How else is some no-account reporter from Fort Worth going to hit the national big-time?

No, I don’t see the difference. Apart from the fact that one occurs every week and one occurs every four years, they’re still just sporting events.

Climb a clock tower?

Sadly, yes. It would be interesting to find out if he’s a transplanted Yankee.

His “apology” says he’s from Louisiana.

Not just an American but a TEXAN. These are people who regularly take jingoism and regional chauvinism to an advanced level far beyond anything any Canadian has ever expressed at any time in its history. To use a Canadian sports comparison, in jingoism the Texans would be an all-time all-star NHL team led by Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, and Wayne Gretzky while the Canadians would be a Tyke-level squad.

Edited because I now read the writer of the article is from Louisiana. However, he’s probably lived in Texas long enough to pick up its state chauvinism.

But it’s OK when we wave OUR flags and cheer OUR guys, on OUR side of the border.

Got it?

Jeez. That guy is a moron.

Yup, I checked led out the attendance at the two Olympics and the proportion of tickets available is almost exactly the same.
