If you do decide to start an anonymous poll, you might also want to consider breaking income down further above $250k. There is a huge difference between two professionals earning $250k a year and two people earning $600k a year.

I find the question interesting, but I also think it should be broken down bit more. A family pulling in 110K and a family pulling in 240K live very different lifestyles in my area.
