We’re talking salary… not investments etc… just what you make… and what is your job title?.. be honest!
Am very curious to see if anyone’s going to answer this seriously.
You don’t really expect people to post their incomes here, do you?
Hey, I’d like to find out who makes the most money and is the most naive.
Not that I’d do anything with that information. Not me. No sirree…
Hey all we need is for someone to get the ball rolling… I’m a college student so I really have not much to list. Someone start it off!
$0.00
That’s what I made last year also. And, it would appear, that should cover next years earnings.
I doubt you’ll get many factual replies (although there was a thread like this a few years ago where many people did reveal income data, before, I think, most of us realized that we would eventually lose our anonymity), and I don’t know why you’d want to know about any specific individual’s income.
We have quite a few attorneys, physicians, engineers, scientists, IT and other professionals. If you want to research salary data for various fields, you can start with the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook. You can also investigate various occupations’ professional organizations as they often perform and publish salary surveys.
I make 50 gazillion dollars a year as a professional message board jokester. I log on to message boards and spread joy and good cheer with my witty remarks. Men want to be me and women want to be with me.
As an addendum to the OP:
Could you please also post your date of birth, county of birth, mother’s maiden name and SSN?
Thank you.
More recently there was a thread asking for $ per SAT point. I’d guess you could figure out something from that, though I’m not sure how reliable it’d be.
As of last night I was making $490,000 a year, but then I woke up.
johnny - I’m curious. Did no one ever tell you it’s terribly impolite (not to mention none of your business) to ask a person how much money they make per year?
StG
Sure it may be impolite but I’m sure there are many other theads you can shake your fist at before you do at mine. The SDMB is where questions are asked and answered based on curiosity. However, I don’t see “Impolite questions” come up under the SDMB rules. After all, StGermain, you would have to click on my question out of curiosity to see what the thread was… so does that make you equally as impolite? or did you open my thread just to tell me I’m impolite?
Yeah, normal standards of decorum don’t always translate to online messageboards. I suspect that most people who post in the sex threads here wouldn’t be so quick to volunteer info about their sex life in the offline world.
For the record, I make a whopping $0 as well!
I dont know why people think its rude or impolite to ask what you make for a living. I was in the Navy where I worked hard and didnt make much money. I now have a much better job and make good money. I dont think Im special or better than other people because I make more money. There was some luck involved but mostly I stayed in my field and until a good job came along. It wasnt terribly hard, anyone could do it.
Im a mechanic at a nuclear power plant. I make about $31/hr and last year due to overtime I made $103,000. The most Ive ever made. I like my job too.
Republican and pro union.
This is in NY where $100,000 does not make you rich. Its more like middle class.
I am about to take a serious paycut to $0. Hopefully, after school I will be making about $125,000 per year.
I made $6472 last year, which is 10 weeks of summer research stipend plus two semesters of about 8 hours of work per week.
I’m an RN in Oklahoma, been one for 8 years, make about 38,000 a year before taxes.
Sadly, not me.
I don’t get what the big deal with income secrecy is.
I’m young and live at home so I don’t have a ton of expenses, which makes it relatively easy to live on about $18,800 a year in my entry-level position at a bank.
