I don’t think this is a very good idea.
Why not? It would make a great Michael Bay project. Maybe Westley can ride off in the end and join the Doolittle Raid.
I was thinking a live musical on TV with a mixed gender mixed race cast. Hey, as long as were messing with a classic, why not go all the way?
I agree with the OP.
Do you mean that the cast will be a mix of different genders, or that each individual will be mixed gender?
Quentin Tarantino could spice it up a little bit.
Only if directed by Peter Jackson - it will be a thrilogy!
Well remember Peter Falk is reading a book. Can the majority of the younger generation relate to that?
Cary Elwes says:“There’s a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a pity to damage this one.”
What’s wrong with having mixed gender and mixed race casts?
If they remake it they absolutely must include more of the parts that Goldman abridged from the original S Morgenstern classic. Goldman obviously didn’t hold those elements in high regard, but they are absolutely essential to understanding the social commentary that Morganstern was engaged in.
I like Jamie Lee Curtis’ comment:
Hollywood is an ouroboros eating itself.
That is awesome.
The ouroboros was a symbol of renewal, resurrection, and reincarnation. Hollywood is an example of why Hindus and Buddhists want to escape from the cycle.
TPB is holding at 97%/94% critics/audiences on RT. Mr. Elwes is quite right.
Maybe clean up the negative and sound score (if that!), and re-release it.
It was either this or a land war in Asia.
I got half way through the book. It includes even more of the stuff that I found unattractive in the film. (cf Bertolt_Brecht)
What would be the point of remaking it? I’m not being snarky here - I honestly don’t see the point.
A remake of the Princess Bride?
I don’t believe it will exist.
