I’m getting lots of ‘server not found’ errors this morning, and got a few last night as well. (I cleared cache and restarted my computer last night on the chance that the trouble was on my end, though no other sites were or are having problems.) I’ve had one database error so far this morning, but that’s an improvement over the several SNF errors.
I noticed no one posted the text of the database error page thingy. It probably isn’t very helpful, but you never know. Here’s what’s displayed after a couple of minutes trying to load:
I’ve been having the same problems as others with loading and threads marked as ‘Read,’ especially in the AM (Eastern time)
ETA: Things are particularly bad when I click on ‘User CP.’ It tries to load for a few minutes then gives up and displays the aforementioned DB error.
It is possible that it correlates with activity. Compare, for example, your number of posts with mine. That is not to say that a post number comparison will always tell the tale. Perhaps a person with only a few thousand posts has begun to post more lately. You could tell maybe if you search on their recent posts. But please don’t. The server might explode.
It’s bad enough that I sit here for ages, watching the status bar doing sod all, only to get timed out. It just adds insult to injury, however, that this is regarded as my ‘last visit’ and all intervening posts are considered to be read. Beyond a joke, really.
