Connery’s “comments” read like PR agent speak.
So Sean, which is it? Did they not offer you enough money or did the script suck?

Moviewise, Indy never needed a father. Good fuckin riddance.
I read the interview with Connery a week or so ago - I thought Connery was very classy throughout. Took the time to praise each of the principles, making it clear that he both enjoyed working with them, but didn’t wish to work at all anymore.
I disagree. The chemistry between Indy and his Dad was much better than between him and Willy in the second movie – it was just the sort of character (and also one with more to reveal about Indy’s past) that he needed to play against. I’m not sure if there was more to be gained by using him again, though.
Besides, it made for a great Donald Duck-Uncle Scrooge interplay. (Too bad my Teemings piece “Only the Penitent Duck Shall Pass” isn’t online still, or I’d link to it.)
Anyone have any script updates? What is Indy looking for this time? Fountain of Youth? Noah’s Ark? Atlantis?
As for Connery not being in it? I’m sad…I liked their chemistry, very siilar to my own with my dad.
Awesome. I’d never seen that, and I was about to PM CalMeacham to email me a copy.
I sense a crossover movie. Pirates of the Lost Ark IV, starring Harrison Ford as the whip-crackingest pirate ever to sail the seven seas!
Not to sound too morbid, but could this really have anything to do with Connery’s health? Didn’t he have a tumor removed from a kidney late last year? What was the outcome/prognosis, anyone?
Sir Rhosis
And does Alex Trebek have anything to do with this?
