Anyone know any details? Have they started production yet.
Here’s what IMDB sez:
AFAIK, all we know is that they are working on it, and Ford has agreed to star.
But that’s been the story for nearly a decade…
Last I heard is that while they’ve all agreed to do a fourth one nobody’s yet produced a good enough script that they’ve all liked so it’s in a holding pattern.
From CNN a few days ago.
At age 64, Ford says he’s still fit to play Indy
But will Ford still feel fit at 74, when the script finally comes together?
Isn’t this the one where the villain is an enlarged prostate?
The sticking point seems to be George Lucas. Every time a script comes in, he rejects it.

I’ve stopped even trying to figure out when the next movie will be coming out. A year or so ago it was supposed to have been filming right about now and due next summer. Now it looks like it they will not start until next year some time. They have a new game that was supposed to come out at the same time, but now I believe will come out some time next year. They also have the Young Indiana Jones series coming out on DVD that keeps getting pushed back.
They either need to get on with it, or just forget about it. I’m begining to think they will find some script but it will be really bad.
Consider this: Harrison Ford was born in July, 1942 – a little under 12 years before Sean Connery, who was born in August, 1930. It’s been 17 years since “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” was released in 1989.
Ford would be, if filming started in 2007, only four years younger than Sean Connery was when they filmed “… Last Crusade.”
I spent a lot of my childhood being Indiana Jones. As I get older, I find I’m all for empowerment of advanced generations, but I’m saying this is as a fan of the character specifically and of the movies in general: it’s time to hang up the whip.
Ford, as it turns out (after re-reading my post), was born a little under 12 years *after * Sean Connery – my point still stands.
Perhaps Lucas could write it himself?
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yes, I’m looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Broken Hip.
I know that Ford has, during the dead periods in Indy 4’s indefinite production cycle, called it Indiana Jones and the Comfortable Chair.
It’s been in development hell since the early 90’s and while every couple of years some news hits that makes it appear that they might be moving forward slightly with the project I really don’t believe it will ever be made.
What *might * work, is having Indy be close to the actual age of Ford. If we put Jones at around 60, and project from the 30’s, we’re right in the 60’s. This gives a lot of interesting possibilities with the space race and Vietnam in full swing.
If Ford plays it the way Connery played an aging Robin Hood, it could actually be good.
Somehow I doubt it will be that way, though.
Oh Og, please let this die a painless, stillborn death. I can’t think of a worse idea–save perhaps, for a film adaptation of I Dream of Jeannie starting Kate Hudson in the title role and Jimmy Fallon as Major Nelson[sup]1[/sup]–than another Indiania Jones movie, and especially one without Nazis. Indy without Nazis is like…Oreos without milk.

[sup]1[/sup]Just checked IMDb.com and found under comments that " This project has been ‘stuffed back into the bottle.’" Yeah, the death of Western Civilization has been pushed out a few years.
