Insane Clown Posse ... your thoughts?

I think the band actually ended up speaking out against her at one point…I don’t really care to sort through that sad mess again to find the quote though.

They can’t say anything, of course, because you don’t make fun of people who are force-feeding you millions of dollars, but I’ve long suspected that they are sick of this army of trashy losers they created. Wouldn’t you have to be, if you had two brain cells to rub together? And they must, because the whole Psychopathic thing is a business that they’ve ran successfully for over 15 years now. IIRC from their appearances on Howard Stern, neither one of them do any drugs, including pot, and Violent J doesn’t even drink. Compare that to how the average juggalo passes their time.

Who ever said juggalos had that much sense? Swastika tattoos and the constant use of racist slurs are hard to misinterpret. Add that to face paint and Faygo, and you’ve got the majority of the local juggalos that I have met.

Like I said, though - I do not assume that my experiences hold true across the board. I’m sure most juggalos are simply druggies with terrible taste, not white supremacists.

Whatever you say. I’m just saying the two things are violently incompatible. If I loved unicycles, I would not dedicate my persona to a musical act who makes it abundantly clear, often, that people who love unicycles are ignorant pieces of shit and they want to kill them.

ICP’s anti-racist songs would more accurately be described as anti-redneck songs. They talk a lot about Klan types (“chickens”) but very little about the racist groups that are more common in urban areas like skinheads.

What part of “I’ll scalp a skinhead quick” is ambiguous to you?

Or, “don’t let me see a bigot comin’ through Clark Park”? Clark Park is in Detroit, which last I checked is A) urban B) not in the south.

Just because they’re talking about being in Clark Park it doesn’t mean they’re talking about Clark Park residents. That’s where they live.

There’s a song on Forgotten Freshness which I’ve forgotten the name of (I own four ICP records but haven’t listened to any ICP songs other than A Lil’ Something Something in years) about a kid from Kentucky showing up at school (and getting beat up for being a redneck/bigot, talking funny, etc.)

ETA: I’ll give you the “scalp a skinhead” bit but note that I did say “very little”. The point is that there are a couple of songs at most that mention urban racists and lots and lots that mention Southern rural racists.

(Sorry, I missed this post yesterday…)

Hey, the OP asked for “thoughts”, not critiques.

Yeah, but you’re not an idiot. Which is one of many ways that you are unlike the average racist.

Oh, come now. This post is downright acrobatic. They’re on the lookout for hillbillies who journeyed out of their log cabins down south to stroll through southwest Detroit? They use the redneck imagery to insult people who believe the way stereotypical rednecks do. They use ‘bigot’ just as often as they use ‘redneck’.

I’ll take it! :stuck_out_tongue:

That would be a huge change, at least by the content of their lyrics. They’ve openly advocated smoking marijuana for a loooong time. Hell, Violent J put out a concept album based on the Wizard of Oz about the quest to get awesome weed.

I know it sounds crazy, but rumor has it they aren’t real clowns and they’ve never hacked anyone to death with an axe.

I am definitely not a fan of their work.

Despite that, I once owned their StrangleMania video. They’re doing play by play commentary to several hardcore wrestling matches from Japan and it’s moronically brilliant.

Seriously, though, some people find that marijuana gets rid of panic attacks and some people find it makes them worse. To some people, it does either, at different times in their life. Violent J suffers from panic attacks, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s gone through stages of pot smoking. Last time I heard a genuine, out of character interview with him, he said all he does is take Nyquil PM every once in awhile.

You can’t have it both ways. You’re using their lyrics to point out the fact that they’re not racist, but also saying that despite what their lyrics say, they don’t do drugs.

My feelings? ICP sucks, and Juggalos make up one of the least appealing subcultures I know of. The music isn’t funny or particularly good to me, and the drugged/racist/evil/degenerate act that the listeners put on is more than enough reason for me to stay away.

I have no intentions of googling it, as I think ignorance really is bliss in this case, but that has to be the most soul crushing three word combination I have ever seen.

 Whatever. I was kidding around in that post. See my explanation in my very next post. Look, I can’t stand juggaloes either, but calling them racists is just ridiculous and ignorant as hell. It’s like saying the Aryan Brotherhood hates Mexicans. They’re despicable and it seems like an easy enough label to dismissively slap on them, but if you know anything about them at all, you know it isn’t true. Reminds me of people who hate George W. Bush for blowing up the World Trade Center. There are plenty of real reasons to hate him without making stuff up.

bbs2k, aka, Big Baby Sweets 2000, I have a hard time believing that you are not down with the clown.

My thoughts, ICP are funny, thoughtful, and something for youngsters to grab onto that, for the most part doesn’t do any lasting harm. YMMV.

SSG Schwartz

They make me laugh and dance around, and my younger friends find it screamingly funny that the fluffy looking grandma’s down with the clown. Don’t think I’ve ever known any actual juggalos, though.

And Fuck The World is like the best song EVER. I keep meaning to count to see if it really is 93 times but I always lose track. Must be the drugs or summat. :stuck_out_tongue:
