There was one they stuck in the credits of the Daytona Beach one that just cracked me up
As the credits rolled, they show Dave back in the zoo trying to get a McCaw to say hello. He keeps on
“Hello…Hello? Hello. Cmon say Hello!”
Bird turns its head and goes “Fuck you!” Bleeped of course.
I truly believe Dave did not expect it as he looks at the camera with a mystified look. Had me rolling.
The fireworks misfiring and nearly scorching the cameraman ranked up there too as well as Dave and that fisherman getting royally stewed on the boat in the Gulf in the middle of the night.
I thought that the one (Albuquerque, I think) where he hunt out with the Scorpions after their concert was cool. I also like how women will see the camera and flash it, apparently thinking that he’s part of “Girls Gone Wild.”
That’s the best part of the show, when he gets away from the bars and goes to see someone working the Graveyard Shift.
If I want to see drunk assholes in bars I can walk downtown, thanks.
It’s interesting that Dave is never condescending to the late might workers that he meets and he never is cruel or makes fun of them. He might make fun of the job they have, but not of them as a person. Plus he seems genuinely interested in what these people do for a living.
Well in Boston he’d really have no choice . . . hell, even 2am is a stretch in “the city that always sleeps”. I actually wanted to see that episode just for ideas of what to do in this place.
When the Vin Diesel movie XXX came out they advertised it on Insomniac. Despite the significant differences in their physiques, those two bald heads looked alike to me, and I couldn’t help thinking of Dave Attell starring in XXX.
“I gotta go snowboard away from this avalanche… but first, there’s something I gotta do!”
Love the show. Pepper Mill and I catch it whenever we can. I, too, was amazed that he found things to do in Boston after 1 AM. I was disappointed in the science fiction convention (Windycon, in the Chicago episode). It made the fans look too dweebish. He should come to Arisia in Boston – the fetish costumers and erotic art and writing folks would fit right in with Dave’s styyle.
Heck, I can’t wait to see what happens if he ever gets to Salt Lake City.
