Insominiac with Dave Attell

Anyone watch this show on Comedy Central? I know he’s Sunday night, but not sure anyother night of the week.

This guy is funny, and has a cool job - go all over the country, mostly big cities, find stuff to do from 11pm til 6am. I watch it to see what S***, he’s going to find especially when I can’t sleep.

I wish he’d come to Wilmington, DE.

I’ve only seen the Boston episode because a friend taped it. I’m in bed way before his show comes on.

It was freakin’ hilarious! The best part was watching him try to come up with something to do in Boston after 2am. The streets roll up (except at a few places in Chinatown where you can get “cold tea”, aka beer, after 2.) He went to the water treatment plant! Sad.

Love, love LOVE Insomniac with Dave Attell. His off-the-cuff stuff is the best… he’s really good at just interacting with people.

He’s coming to the DC Improv in May for all DC area dopers:

Dave Attell is the man! I love Insomniac.

That’s a terrific show; Dave Attell does a fantastic job of meeting people and checking out local color, (usually) without coming across as a patronizing snob.

His recent trip to Anchorage was great. And I loved the Memphis episode a couple years ago, though I could have found him some far more interesting late-night places than the filthy beer joint–called “The Beer Joint”–he went to. (I’ve been to The Beer Joint quite a few times, but when I got spit on by a hooker in there I decided it was time to scout out a better class of dives.)

I think my favorite was somewhere in California, IIRC, when he spent the night going around to work sites with a crime-scene cleanup guy, cleaning up murder and suicide victims. Grisly stuff, which of course makes for the best humor.

I love that show as well. My favorite was when he went down to New Orleans and went nutria hunting with the local cops.

That’s one of my favorite shows! He is so quick-witted, and he doesn’t just hang out in bars and strip clubs. He shows some of the quirkier sides of each city he goes to.

Great show…Dave Attel is hilarious!

Dave was in Columbus this past weekend. My brother managed to track him down, chat, have a donut and get his picture taken with him. He doubts he’ll make the show though, because, “he didn’t ahve anything funny to say”. Will still be watching for him when it airs in July.

I loved him riding around with the street-sweeper!

Insomniac is great. Dave Attell also has a hilarious new stand up album out called “Skanks for the Memories.” Low brow comedic gold.

The Onion had an interview with Attell recently. If I remember right, Attell said that an episode is taped over a couple of nights.

Insomniac is a great show and I’ve been a fan of Attell’s since I saw him on Dr. Katz. The joke that stuck with me was about how he doesn’t like egg nog. He says the inventor of egg nog thought “hmmmm, I want to get a little drunk, but I also want to have pancakes.”

One of my favorites too. I also liked the dog bar, sorry I don’t remember where that one was, and the night he drove around with the tow truck driver.

Try Thursday at 10 pm. Two episodes in a row, and then THE DAILY SHOW right after. Comic nirvana.

We recently picked up the “Uncensored Insomniac” DVD. You get to hear him say “fuck” and you see the naked boobies without fuzz.

So is it worth it?

Dignan, boobies are always worth it.

Always.

Love the show, and Dave’s remarks, just the right mix of faux shock and sleaze.

I’m a nightowl anyway, so I try to use the show as a motivational tool to move to a bigger city. I keep telling myself, “See all the fun you could have with drunks and lowlifes if you’d move!”

That was the San Francisco episode. I beleive the crime scene guy was in Berkeley (which is across the bridge and a little to the left).

I like the show, too. He does what I wish I were doing, all the time.

Wow, sounds like I need that DVD.

Seriously, Insomniac rules. After 24, this is pretty much the only show on TV I make sure I don’t miss.

I love how he always ends every show by saying “get some sleep!” Sometimes I think I need to take that advice.
