Screaming Liberal. Made these to sell on CafePress. Currently own[sup]*[/sup] a beretta vertec .40, a .22 Buckmark, and an SKS. Hate the beretta, looking at a 1911 maybe, or maybe a kimber .40. Love love love my SKS. Just bought 1k more rounds[sup]**[/sup] and it is the funnest boom stick in my current arsenal. It has a bayonett too, so I can stab the cans when I’m done shooting them.

This just came up with a coworker who spouts “ban guns” as much as neocons chant “cut taxes”. He is convinced that gun ownership immediately assumes right wing, bible thumping conservatism. I think there are lots of center/lefties who think the 2nd amendment applies to all, but are not as vocal for various reasons.
I voted democrat the last 3 elections, and do not own any firearms but think it’s an important right of the people. I’m also in the camp that there should be licensing and training, but am completely against making weapons illegal for responsible owners.
I’m further left than most democrats but I’m also a strong supporter of gun rights. I don’t have a gun right now but I have in the past and likely will again. I get irritated with the Democrats for a lot of their gun control advocacy but given the choice between a party that wants to violate the 2nd Amendment or the party that wants to violate the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th I’m going to have to stick with the dems.
I have several guns, all but two are kept for sentimental reasons. The 20 gauge my grandfather dispatched hundreds of skunks, rabbits, crows and anything else that threatened his garden with, his two .32 revolvers, the .22 I got for Christmas when I was 7, the first gun I bought (Glock 19, 4 high caps purchased during the AWB for $80 a piece) and a .380 and .45, my only two serious guns and the guns I carry. I like shooting tactical matches and can put two in the head at 25 yards while moving. Looking into getting an AR-15 for our cabine/pistol matches but I really don’t have time to shoot it, so it’s on the back burner. I can’t stand the NRA and most gun debates.

We need to have a Flori-Dopefest with gun owners and CCW permit holders. Maybe at a range where we could all bring our toys for everyone to try out. That would be a rootin’ tootin’ good time.
