I just finished washing my potentially poisoned garden tools, plus the steering wheel on the mower and the handle on the wagon. All of my gloves are hanging on the line to dry, and I ordered another half a dozen pairs. That means the two pairs that I can’t find will show up in the next day or two.
There are way more sticks down in the back yard than in the front, so I’m about to go out and start raking them into little piles before dragging the wagon around to gather them all. It’s freekin’ hot out there, but picking up sticks is a fairly non-strenuous activity. I hope.
And I quit. I raked up most of the top part of the back yard, filling the wagon well above the sides. The debris has been dumped in the woods and the wagon is stowed till tomorrow. It’s going to be about 15° cooler in the morning, so I’ll finish then. Meanwhile, I’ll rehydrate.
If the Princess tried to get me up for breakfast service early, I failed to notice. Thus, I’m going to have a sulky Siamese on my hands today. Oh well. Waiting until shortly past noon for her breakfast (when I finally cleared out enough of the OTC sleeping pill that getting up was an option) certainly won’t kill her. She has dry food down all the time, and she does have that reserve pad on her tummy.
The foot might be a bit better today. Still hurts a bit, but I’m pretty sure swelling’s gone down.
Howdy Y’all! Back from our jaunt to the old folks home. ‘Twas a nice visit and I’m glad we went. Also, we swung by the sto’ to pick up some stuff. I’m plannin’ some dindins for this week. Tomorrow shall be leftovers from today’s N.O.L., Tuesday shall be margarita night at a good local Mexican place. I’m thinkin’ beef tips 'n rice for Wednesday, and lasagna (Stouffer’s don’t judge!) Thursday. I feel so organized!
Nettie glad the foot is feelin’ better.
MOOOOOOM I considered mowage this evenin’ but then thought better. It’s too dang hawt out! Plus I hear thunder rumblin’s in the distance.
Supper was a quick and easy cheat meal - I made pasta roni fettuccine alfredo with peas and shrimps mixed in. Very tasty, especially since we didn’t have lunch and we were starving!!
I’ve been dealing with blister leakage, so I had to put the bandage back on my wrist. I’ll shower before bed then go crazy with the calamine. Once this nasty poison clears up, I’ll have to wash the sheets to get all the pink residue off of them.
Tomorrow I’ll rake, and I might mow. Tonight, I’ll knit.
Nothing at all wrong with letting the nice Stouffer’s people do the yummies and save you the work and hassle. They make very good lasagna.
You’re a lot more organized than I am. I’m winding up cooking ahead as much as the foot (which is right back to hating me after the grocery run) will permit, since we’re out of freezer space. The family-size Stouffer’s cheeseburger bake is in the oven as I type, and a bag of chicken breasts are thawing for future grilling or taco-seasoning (as the whim takes me).
Tomorrow is a day off, and probably off the foot as well.
My decision not to achieve mowage turned out to be a wise decision. Had I done so, I would’ve gotten drenched about halfway through the mowage of the back yahd. Aside from bein’ a delicate flower, it irks me to no end to have to quit in the middle of a chore I woudn’t have been able to finish because it is now too wet. See, sloth has its perks!
My sissy is a sweet angel actually. Dorothy, on the other hand, well, she was a real bitch. I mean smashin’ a witch with a house and then stealin’ her shoes and on top of that, usin’ what she said was “water” to kill the witch,s sister! On top of that cavortin’ around with men dressed up in strange costumes! Auntie Em should have sent the brat to convent school. Oh, btw, there is a book that tells the wicked witch of the west’s side of the story. I can’t think of the title right now but I shall search for it at some point.
And on that note, two tahrd bears are goin’ to retire to the bedroom to watch teevee and stuff until sleepy time.
[Heathers]Just like Kansas. Remember fucking Kansas?[/Heathers]
Making spicy Italian sausage with quinoa and a tossed salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Drinking a Trader Joe’s Dunkelweizen.
doggio, in this neck of the woods, most laundromats have a bar or likker sto’ next door. I think they’re on to something.
I tried out a new recipe for eggplant lasagne tonight. With a couple of tweaks, it should be a good potluck dish for mixed vegetarian/ carnivore crowds. I rounded out the meal with some snap beans, a salad, a glass of a nice pinot noir and summer fruit salad with a dollop of leftover ricotta. I’s stuffed.
Friday I got to see someone in handcuffs. Today I had another driver swear at me (I had to google some of the expressions to be sure) for like five minutes. Now all I need is to witness or be assaulted and my Jersey Trifecta will be complete.
Six Flags had a cash bar at dinner with more fair than normal prices. Life is <hic> good, ain’t it?
Tomorrow shapes up as an 8am-11:30pm day at the park. We may just have to slip out in the afternoon for a nap. Growing up is optional but we are slowly growing older. Twenty years ago we could do a week of 5 hour nights but now we have to find at least 2 more hours of closed eyes somewhere.
