"Intellectual Dark Web" Stupidity Omnibus

Joe Rogan Explains His Political Views

He’s not 100% left, but he’s certainly not right wing. His wiki page is wrong.

I never said he was right wing. Are you not seeing the word “Libertarian”, or do you think it means the same thing as “Left”?

Minor quibble, the named individuals are mostly political pundits, their quest for publicity is antithetical to the “Dark Web”.

“Dark Web” is a specific term for sites that cannot be found by using normal search engines or visited by simply pointing a browser at a public site. Darknets by definition are overlay networks on top of the Internet but which require specific software to access.

These idiots income streams are largely generated explicitly by being as public and loud as possible.

Rogan may not be right-wing, in fact a lot of these folks would not list themselves as such, but they are reactionary.

Carl Benjamin had his twitter account suspended for sending gay porn to Nazis. He didn’t want Nazis following him. Fine and Dandy but he never considered that he was getting Nazis following him because he was saying things they liked.

The OP said it though

The term was coined by Eric Weinstein as a joke. He calls it that because they’re not scared to talk about things that might get you no platformed.

That’s exactly why I coined an alternate name for the IDW.

As I usually do, I check with who he was/is walking with.

Rogan was a big buddy of Alex Jones, AFAIK until Rogan finally noticed how Jones was into harmful, crazy conspiracy theories. So Rogan is better than Alex now, but not by much, For example, Rogan now thinks that he is an agnostic regarding if the Apollo missions were fake.

“ignorance is such a gift” as Arian Foster said congratulating Rogan for his “I don’t know” bullshit position on the moon hoax.

So, while in the past I would qualify Rogan as just an ignorant conspiracy entertainer, the sad reality is that commanded by FOX and other right wing misinformers, bullshit conspiracies are being supported and enhanced with a twist: they are turned into right wing litmus tests geared to the ignorant that do vote. It was not that way as conspiracies snarl both conservatives and liberals alike, but after several years of experience I have to report that a lot of harmful conspiracies are being weaponized by the right and followed and spread by many “intellectuals” of the dark web and run of the mill right wing sources and sites.

Vox reported a bit about Rubin over here:

It is too bad “Confederacy Of Dunces” is already taken, because then we could refer to their online spewings as “CODpieces”.

The three you mention I am familiar with are not even right of center. Rogan, Peterson, and Rubin are basically center left on nearly all issues.

Calling Rubin “reactionary” is grounds to dismiss you entirely, but I will allow you to explain yourself.

Perhaps you should at least skim their content instead of basing your claims 100% on hack filters of opinion.

I am willing to concede that encouraging common sense personal responsibility has been labeled by zany leftists as reactionary. I think everyday folks across the spectrum would disagree.

Still, it is a devolution of precise language, entire industries and governments and inter-agency agreements will have to come up with “yet another bit of jargon” to cover the need for concise and accurate communication.

Especially from an author who publicly bitches about terms like LGBTQ

Yet he “cut and pasted from stack overflow” himself.

Uh, I’m not the one you replied to, but:…

Now, that really does not fit as being “center left” and my point that dark web guys like him are falling for poisonous conspiracies is more on the money.

Sort of similar. There is a new TV station that will probably out ‘fox’ FOX. Blaze TV. Now I can’t find this advertising tag line on line, but heard about it on the Michael Smerconish show on POTUS radio (Sirius XM)

Anyway, the tag line was “No Censorship, No Liberal Ads”. HHAHAHAHHAH. Stupid fucks can’t string two sentences together with out contradicting themselves. No doubt the site that the OP is talking about will be much the same.

He has promoted conspiracy theories? How does his assessment of various media have anything to do with his placement on the political spectrum? His policies are like a non-interventionist 90’s Bill Clinton. My assessment is based on 100% skimming of his content. Is yours based solely on hack filters of opinion or did it include any primary sources?

Rogan endorsed the Libertarian in both the 2012 and 2016 elections, and does not belong to any part, so calling him a Democrat has to be done without a whole lot of evidence.

He’s not really a part of the Jordan Peterson gang either, though they have a lot of fans in common. Rogan is sort of a weird Greek god of Red Bull.

Pseudo-intellectual dark web is more like it.

I like Rogan as a UFC commentator, and he occasionally does, to his credit, get innerestin people on his show, but I can’t sit and listen to anything for hours at a time, much less Eddie Bravo trying to make a coherent argument for why the earth is really flat and why we never visited the moon (or whatever he spouts on about). They should stick to what they know, like how to break someone’s neck.

I am not that familiar with his content having watched a couple interviews and segments, though I seem to be much more familiar than a majority here that have formed a very solid opinion of him.

Do you have examples of something he has pushed? Please refrain from the 6 degrees of separation people like to engage in.
