I know the dope has more than a few regular Lord of the Rings Online players, and the game is a lot more fun when played with a group of people, so I’m wondering if there would be anyone interested in making new characters and playing as a group on some kind of regular (weekly, bi-monthly?) basis?
Well I see you haven’t had a lot of response to this in around a month, but I just did this forum search to see if anyone already made a thread to this very effect.
I play LOTRO, on Riddermark, (player name Ubergoober Lvl 23 Hunter) and I wanted to see if any other dopers played. I’ve been having a hard time finding mature players (not necessarily old, just a mature mind) to play with. It’s especially difficult finding anyone who wants to do a “Fellowship Quest” because everyone I have run across so far has a bit of a “grind it out” mindset. I’m not a hardcore roleplayer, but I do occasionally read the quest dialogue, and I like to play with people who understand teamwork, and don’t whine and moan like little kids when they don’t get UBER XP! immediately or the nicest loot in every drop.
So if you’re still around, or if you play on that server, or if anyone else reads this thread and is interested, maybe we can get something going? It doesn’t have to be a kinship necessarily but just to have contacts in game to chat with or quest with would be nice
There is/was a SDMB kinship (The Third Gry on Silverload), I’m not on all that often, but don’t usually see others.
The prospect of a semiregular group does have some appeal, I’ll think about it.

I still show up on Silverlode, in the Third Gry kinship. But regular play is impossible for me because of my job. I mostly get on every few weeks and play with a character for a level or two, then log off. To give you an idea of my progress, my highest character is level 55. I started him to join the Third Gry when the game started and he has never made it to the level limit. But I will say, the pre-order lifetime membership I got has been very worthwhile.
