Mysteries. Mysteries. Mysteries. If I say it three time, I’ll have solved the riddle of the spell check.

Here is my (albeit short) list of books I’d love to give away:
[ul]
[li] The Talisman, by Peter Straub. In paperback, only read once, excellent condition.[/li]
[li] The Lost World, by Michael Crichton. In paperback, only read once, excellent condition.[/li]
[li] A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. In paperback, never read. I got it used so it’s a little worn but still in good condition.[/li]
[li] The Past through Tomorrow. Robert A. Heinlein. Hardcover, excellent condition, never read.[/li]
[li] Edson’s Raiders, by Joseph Alexander. Hardcover, excellent condition, never read. [/li]
[li] The Dragon and the Unicorn, by er… Paperback, excellent condition, never read. Aargh. I can’t put my fingers on this one at the exact moment, so I can’t remember the author, but I know it’s here somewhere.[/li][/ul]
Anybody want them?

Oh I love them, too, but you know, you might always find something you’d like to own here.

I have 7 books out from Whitney Young right now.

And I’m in Watervliet (well, Latham, really). I’m your neighbor!

I thought for certain it was going to be a Gordon Dickson title, but it looks like it’s by Lynne Cherry.

Oooh, darling darling Izzybella, has this been claimed? I’d be terribly interested if it hasn’t been. Pleasepleaseplease let it be free. I’m sending you an e-mail after I post this.

For children’s/YA books, I have to offer A Cricket in Times Square by George Selden and Daniel’s Story, by Carol Matas. Both are in pretty good condition, though Daniel’s Story may have Oreo crumbs between the pages in select chapters.

If you’re interested, please e-mail me at the address in my profile with SDMB in the subject, or just drop a message in this thread.

Agh, I’m a fool. Both books are paperback. I’ll only ship within the US, and probably won’t be able to mail anything until next Saturday, the fifth of March. Sorry, non-American Dopers.

What a great idea! I’m very interested in these:

From further
Hanff, Helene. 84 Charing Cross Road

From Izzybella
I, Elizabeth by Rosalind Miles

From Scuba_Ben
David Eddings, The Tamuli series

I’ll post my list of books later today, 'cause I’m stupid tired now.

Can I have these too, Urban Chick? I’ll e-mail you my stuff!

I got confused with Fletch, too.

I meant, Can I have these two, of course.

Sure thing. I got your email and will mail them promptly Tuesday morning.

Since I’m too lazy to hie my behind to the used bookstore (which has truly weird hours anyways) I have to offer:

Hardcover:
Sue Grafton: “O” is for Outlaw, “C” is for Corpse, “H” is for Homicide
Faye Kellerman: Stalker
Michael Connelly: the Poet
Daniel Hecht: Skull Session
Peter Duchin: Ghost of a Chance
Michael Crichton: Timeline
Joe Eszterhas: American Rhapsody
Anne Rice: Servant of the Bones Ex library book
Stephen Hunter: Dirty White Boys Ex library book
Karen Kijewski: Cat Scratch Fever, Honky Tonk Kat Both ex library books

Paperback:
I have WAYYYYY to many to list. I have primarily mystery/crime (Patterson, Connelly, Lescroart) and brit chick lit . Whatta combo, I know. E-mail me an author/title and I’ll see if I have it.

In exchange: Anyone have old cookbooks just mouldering around? I prefer local ones, anywhere from the 20’s to today. LilMiss just poked in and asked for RL Stein Fear Street books.

Oh, and for the kids, LilMiss is willing to give up a bunch of Babysitters Club books. If there’s certain ones your daughter wants, let me know the number and I’ll see if we have it. Heaven knows we have TONS.

Dang. Of course, this thread would come up just after I have listed all my surplus paperbacks at thebookcart.com. Neat site, by the way, same concept as this thread.

I’ll go through my stuff and see if I have more, because I know I really don’t have the room for all these books anymore.

I do have a bunch of paperbacks with no covers that I don’t know what to do with. They’re all still readable, of course, but they don’t donate well. I’ll make a list.

I don’t have any specific authors or titles in mind, but if you get around to listing titles, I’d love to know what you have. I love British chick lit.

Here’s my list of books. All were bought used, so the spines could be cracked and the covers a little worn, but they’re all paperbacks in good readable condition, except where noted. I’ll ship anywhere, my email is in my profile, or reply here.

Note: these Amazon links are not necessarily to the actual edition I have.

General Fiction:
Frank, Pat - Alas, Babylon
Shute, Nevil - On the Beach
Wibberley, Leonard - The Mouse That Roared. Tooth marks on the upper corner of the spine. (Apparently, my cat found it tasty.)

Mystery:
Tey, Josephine - The Daughter of Time
Woods, Stuart - Chiefs, L.A. Times, New York Dead, and Palindrome

Vonnegut, Kurt - Breakfast of Champions

I woudl adore the Wodehouse - I’ve always meant to read it but my library doesn’t have any.

racinchikki, the Wodehouse is yours. Email me with your address, and I’ll send it off.

Also, Miss Purl McKnittington emailed me for the Gormenghast trilogy, so they’re off the list too.

EmeraldGrue, may I please have these books? I’ll email you to follow up.

GorrilaGirl, I got your email. The Tamuli series is yours.

Here’s my list of books for swap.

The Sword of Shannara, Terry Brooks, paperback, good condition. It’s been described on these boards as one of the better remakes of Lord of the Rings.

The Odessa File, Frederick Forsyth, paperback, good condition. A brotherhood of Nazi criminals. CAVEAT LECTOR: Includes a first-person account of the Holocost.

Midnight, Dean R. Koontz, paperback, good condition.

Nimitz Class, Patrick Robinson, paperback, fair condition. Suspense, with Tom Clancy style technical details.

Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, The Restored Klingon Version, William Shakespeare, Nick Nicholas, Andrew Strader, hardback, excellent condition. Autographed by Lawrence M. Schoen. No hard-core KLI Trekkie should be without it!

Castle of Wizardry and Enchanter’s End Game, David Eddings, paperback, good condition. Books 4 and 5 of The Belgariad. Eddings’s first fantasy series, and extremely wordy.

Retief at Large, Keith Laumer, paperback, good condition. An anthology of comic science fiction short stories.

Midshipman’s Hope, David Feintuch, paperback, excellent condition. Autographed by the author. The first in a series of military science fiction novels. Contains a slight misprint on one page.

And, as noted earlier, The Elenium trilogy, David Eddings, paperback, good condition. An intricate fantasy series, with warfare, avatars of Deities, and the inevitable fair maiden in distress.

Going once…going twice…and the Potter books are gone!
