Well, in my particular case, the ideal characteristics that should be encapsulated by her would be:
First and foremost, a beautiful smile. To me a smile is a window into the soul, it manifests a girl’s true feelings and echoes her innermost secrets. A sweet, heart-warming smile enchants me, captivates me as if it were a magical spell of passion.
Accompanying that sky-brightening smile should be the sweetness and cuteness that such an enchanting, natural facial expression reflects. When she speaks, the magical tone of her voice shall be forever impregnated in my soul and resonate through eternity in my heart. When she looks at me I would melt at the glimpse of such a fascinating stare; the privilege of being graced by her attention summoning me to eternal and incommensurable love and devotion.
A most would have to be a good sense of humor, an ability to laugh at herself, to not care about what other people think, to enjoy the most idiotic jokes, to disregard conventionalisms, to be free, natural, true to herself. I find it that humor allows you to abstract from the reality of day to day existence and enter the realm of fantasy, of the imaginary. By laughing, stress disappears and good nature surfaces, the burden of your worries dissipates in the mysterious domains of infinity, peace and spiritual satisfaction replacing them and filling your heart with joy.
A zest for life, an appreciation for all the beautiful things we encounter in this beautiful oasis in space we call home, an enjoyment of nature, a curiosity towards unraveling the mysteries of our existence; they all should be comprised within the spectra of qualities displayed by the person to whom I lend my heart to: my soulmate.
Completing her idealized conceptualization would be external beauty, not necessarily in the form of a gorgeous, voluptuous blonde, but manifested through a sweet, innocent-looking girl.
But of course that is just my excessively idealistic, over-romanticized fantasy. A nice way to summarize the above mentioned conceptualization of a soulmate would be this: Katie Holmes, Natalie Portman or Drew Barrymore. Now, why didn’t I think about that before? :rolleyes:

And BTW, yeah, you are right, one of the main reasons why I liked Amidala was Natalie Portman. Her enchanting personality, beauty, poise and overall captivating essence gave a whole new dimension to her character.

Personally, I would add that she doesn’t feel the need to wear makeup, and she looks good in a baseball hat. A natural girl, with a great smile, and whenever I see her for the first time in the day, my heart gets all fluttery.
FPK, you asked for a list of five, and I said I would take the fifth. Whether that means amendment or person on the list is up to you. Now, please qualify your list. Is it five people that one knows personally, or five fantasy people, like famous people, that all or most of us would know? If I were to list five perfectly desirable people in my life, what meaning would that have for this discussion?

You are totally right. Baseball caps look great on sweat looking gals, especially when turned backwards. And yes, makeup only takes away from a girl’s true beauty. It doesn’t make sense for her to hide her true essence and occult her natural beauty under an artificial skin of “beauty” enhancers. I have always wondered what would aliens think if they came to Earth and found all this makeup covering the faces of the female members of our species. I imagine they would probably think that we earthlings are nuts. :rolleyes:

Thanks! Those are nice comments, more than I deserve really. But you haven’t answered my question yet. I take it that Russ might be your soulmate–or a close approximation–so you can think of him when trying to describe your idealized conceptualization of your perfect partner. Just a suggestion.

i just have to say that i would totally agree with quasar. i think quasar might also be right, Russ might very well be your soulmate. As for Jedi Girl and FPK i think they are best friends, because if they were sisters then FPK would be moving as well and wouldn’t be able to get on to post.

My soulmate…
He would have to have a beautiful smile. Not neccesarily someone who has a physically gorgeous smile, but you know how you can tell when a person is really, truly happy? People have beautiful smiles then, and he would have to have one like that.
His eyes would have to make me want to stare into them all day, realizing that even if I did, I’d still want to stare into his eyes for eternity, because they would enchant me that much. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, his would be open to me, and mine open to him. We’d be able to read each others thoughts and feelings when we looked at each other…Everything else would melt away when I looked into his eyes, and life would be perfect.
He would have to be totally true to himself, and not care what anyone else was doing. In other words, he couldn’t bend to peer pressure very easily. I believe that if you know yourself then you are a much stronger person. His sense of humor would be his and his alone. It wouldn’t be the type of sense of humor that is cruel (like when people find humor in others’ misery), but he would be totally unique. His opinions would be his and he wouldn’t be friends with people because they were popular. In fact, he wouldn’t be afraid to dislike the popular people.
I would want my soul mate to be my second best friend, I’d have to trust him to the extent that I could bare my soul to him and not worry about my feelings being crushed. We’d be able to complete each other’s sentances (to a point - at least be thinking along the same lines as each other)
Of course, adding that it wouldn’t hurt if he looked and acted like my very own Prince Charming in the flesh, and that I’d prefer that he be tall is sort of asking a lot, isn’t it.
Yes, I suppose Russ might be the conceptualization of my soul mate, but you never know - you can only hope.

I think i have to give an actual opinion this time, and it seems that the question that’s going around is “What is your conceptualization of a soulmate?”, my answer is mainly a compilation of what others have sad with my 2 cents added.
So here i go:
A perfect smile, not too big, probably on the small side, a petite mouth with nice teeth, something that makes you want to just stare and sigh.
A cute face and nature. My soulmate would be something that i wouldn’t mind staring at all day for the rest of my life and as long as i live.
Someone that would laugh at me, but also know when to tell me to be quiet, and just nod and smile. Someone that knows you well enough to understand even the vaguest of your inside jokes and can share memories with you.
My soulmate would be someone i can trust, and that trusts me. Trust is very important, and without it you have nothing. Everyone needs someone to talk to, and why not have it be your soulmate? Also tied on to this is: even if they do trust you they can still not tell you about themselves, i think it is important to be able to open up to each other and share your lives to each other.
Someone who isn’t afraid of what others thinks, but at the same time knows there is a time and place when you have to listen to authority. Someone who is ok with bending the rules to add a little spice to life.
External beauty is a plus, but remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in that case whoever your soulmate is would fit this.

Pretty eyes, just that right color, something that could catch you and hold you there and you would be happy just staring into forever.
I think when i am around my soulmate will make me the happiest. i think that the bond between me and her would be so strong that there would be no need for PDA (public displays of affection) and that others would see the two of us and know, by the way we look at each other, the way we talk to other, the way we act. I think that if i ever found my soulmate i might not ever kiss her, for most people it means so little and i don’t think it is necessary. I think just holding her in my arms and living every moment like it was my last with her would be enough. Just having her in my arms would be all i need.
Just thinking about all this makes me want to go out and find my soulmate… anyone know where to start looking? do you think i could put this in a personals ad and find someone? the search begins…

My soul mate? I doubt I could ever describe him, it’s just one of those things that keeps changing as I go through different things and learn more about the world. I guess I could start though, I doubt many of you will care but…
He would have to be very patient, and very loving. I’m not the most trusting of people so he’d have to understand that and nurse me through it until I can trust him completely. I think that any guy that loves me enough to do that for me and understand that I do have my issues and that he may help but it’s not likely that he can change me is a near perfect guy. My soulmate and I would have to trust each other completely and know that we would never do anything to hurt each other intentionally. My soulmate would be someone that I cared about more than myself, that I could worry about, someone that I feel the need and the want to know about what they’re doing and never want anything to happen to them. I don’t know, I guess I just want someone who understands me. Who can see how I look at things and tell me how he looks at things and have us understand each other and be able to learn from each othere while at the same time understanding each other’s limitations. Alright there’s so much more but I have work to do, so buh-byers.
