Some numbers are, let’s face it, more interesting than others. Powers of 10, and their even multiples (e.g. 2000), have a certain basic fascination since we use base-10 numeration. But lots of other numbers are interesting as well, due to mathematical (1024 = 2^10), historical (1492), or cultural (666) reasons.
