Interesting vBulletin Feature - Maybe

What the heck. I’m bored, it’s quarter after 1 in the morning, I’ll do it. Some of the names are vaguely familiar…

I’m userid 3291.

Ignoring all the IDs which have less than 10 posts and/or have been dead for almost a year, I can see a number of noteworthy neighbors of mine:

stolichnaya is at 3288.
Redwing is at 3286.
… and Libertarian is at 3284. Dude, I’m not worthy!

It’s Sunday, I bored, so why not:

I’m #529, registered 4-5-99

People who registered on the same day…

gotta know…

More pointlessness! Let’s see who’s around me!

I was only the second person to register on my date, 11/4/99. The others are:

galen, # 3110, with 96 posts
your friendly neighborhood Da Ace, # 3111, with 390 posts
jesus_farted, # 3112, with 1 post
hologramaja, # 3113, with 1 post
ZyA, # 3114, with 1 post
Homer Green, # 3115, with 18 posts
Spanky, # 3116, with 2 posts
rubes, # 3117, with 187 posts
M. Macha Nightmare, # 3118, with 1 post
JerryD, # 3119, with 0 posts
Ver, # 3120, with 1 post
pandora3617, # 3121, with 1 post
Laroo, # 3122, with 0 posts
marklyon, # 3123, with 1 post
acooke, # 3124, with 0 posts
and that’s the end of November 4th. The next day starts much the same way:
Derf, # 3125, with 19 posts
Twin, # 3126, with 67 posts
galen, # 3110, with 96 posts

So, although my post count seems puny, I’m the biggest poster of my class! rubes is next closest, and he/she/it has less than half of what I do!

Hm, let’s see if I can find anyone I recognize…

Cooper, at #3133, has 688 posts, but they all must be places like GD or the Pit, 'cause I’ve never heard of him.

And then there’s egkelly, weighing in at 341 posts and #3162, whose name is actually vaguely familiar.

Let’s go the other way, shall we?

Good 'ol padeye rules the neighboorhood from the stoop of #3095, with 812 posts.

Hm, time to go do somew work, I think.

1163

How does one get a list of everyone who registered on a particular day?

I’m 4475, flanked by SkiChick 33 (4474) and dcnewsman (4476), with 1 and 4 posts, respectively. This’ll make number 125 for me, whoo hoo!

Frank:

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Look up there where the URL is, where it says (in your case) ‘userid=1163’ at the end.
  3. Change the 1163 to 1164. Hit enter. You’ll get the profile of the first person to register after you.
  4. Keep doing that in both directions (1164, 1165,…; 1162,1161,…) until the registration date changes.

As of this moment in time, there are 6,250 userids registered with this here bulletin board.

Welcome, number 6250! Username: B8ovin

As in Beethoven?

Some numbers are, let’s face it, more interesting than others. Powers of 10, and their even multiples (e.g. 2000), have a certain basic fascination since we use base-10 numeration. But lots of other numbers are interesting as well, due to mathematical (1024 = 2^10), historical (1492), or cultural (666) reasons. Thought I’d track down a few of the holders of the more interesting numbers. Any gaps indicate posters that are either long gone, or never posted much to begin with.

As of this post, the newest (highest) userid is 6250.

Powers of 10: nevermind.

Multiples of 1000:

2000: jazzmine

Powers of 2:

2: Lynn Bodoni
32: TubaDiva
512: TheIncredibleHolg
1024: Falcon

Perfect Squares:

36: OpalCat
289: SadisticWeasel
529: Louie
1024: Falcon
1369: Alphagene
2025: manhattan
3025: Krispy Original
3844: MKM (MikeM on the LBMB)
5329: Bast (SmoothOperator on the F[sup]3[/sup]MB)

Ramanujan’s Number:

1729: Mr.Zambezi

More of these later; time to get some work done.

If great minds think alike, I was unknowingly channeling UncleBeer (OP), neuro-trash grrrl (Top 20) and RTFirefly (Cool numbers) with a recent redundant thread I started.

Since I didn’t think of the “neighborhood” dealio, here are the neighbors of the beast who registered on the day I did - 05-04-1999:

It’s good to see quadell so near me, even if I don’t know anyone else on the list - even the 159 post person!

Yer pal,
Satan

I HAVE BEEN SMOKE-FREE FOR:
One month, 19 hours, 28 minutes and 0 seconds.
1232 cigarettes not smoked, saving $154.06.
Life saved: 4 days, 6 hours, 40 minutes.

I registered on January 24, 2000. My colleagues that registered that day were as follows:

4195	Lamsai 5
4196	blackforest	0
4197	welby 4
4198	gEEk 18
4199	Union Guy	0
4200	KateTheCursed	0
4201	Joe_x 58
4202	Bonkers SFJ 0
4203	tubring 4
**4204 Billdo 520**
4205	momdidit	0
4206	plank 17
4207	dan's mother	1

Unfortunately, except for Joe_x, I don’t seem to be in a particularly active cohort. Cool names, though, even if they aren’t posters.

Where am I?

I’m at 1247, registered 5/26/99 with 1271 posts.

There were quite a few registrations that day (I think it stretched from 1228 to 1252, or something.) The only names I recognized were:

Dawnbird, #1229, 160 posts
Lucky, #1231, 555 posts
Thorleifur, #1234, 80 posts
Joeyblades, #1237, 692 posts
Gilligan, #1244, 745 posts

I’m number 1588, inbetween some similarly hyperactive posters with 4, 0, and 4 posts…

I haven’t posted in so long that I can’t find my id anywhere. I’m posting here so I can look up my profile.
It doesn’t show when you look at your own.

Lets see here. I don’t know when the last time I posted, sot I guess I’ll just have to pad my count and post again.

[li]5727[/li][/ul]

I’m number 318, registered 3/21/99. Also registered that day:

317-mangeorge
316-CWLandorf
315-kree
314-jcamacho66
313-The Voice
312-Divido Umbra

319-laughery
320-Janice
321-Lawrence

Fun fact: Lawrence’s date of registration is the same as his ID. (Ditto for #322, Thad Byars, but he’s never posted so he probably doesn’t count.)
