To add to the confusion-
Although Ale’s answer may be correct, it’s not the one I was looking for.
I had a different date and a different distance in mind…

So I guess that means I jumped the gun when I answered Ale’s question. Then, to make things even worse, I chastised devilsknew for posting out of turn. :smack:
davidm, don´t worry, you didn´t get the correct answer anyway
Primesite, I think I may have had the wrong date… I´ll get the right one before the rooster sings. wink-wink
THIS cite should settle the matter, unless Mr. Rocket Rooster AKA Curt Rogers performed the stunt at another location, in a different date and different jump distance which I´m not aware of; perhaps in Massachussets?
So there was a whole lot of excitement over nothing? I’m too confused, I think I’ll sit this one out.
Well, the CL-227 is called the “flying peanut” (search the page for the word “peanut”) and it is “roughly 6 feet tall” (third paragraph) so I did get a right answer, just not the one you’re looking for. I guess that’s the problem with this kind of game, we have to guess which right answer is being looked for. Maybe you need to qualify it further; their may be many things called “flying peanut”.
Sooooooooooooo who’s next? Was the bird man answered? The peanut? This is confusing for a lil’ macrophage like me.
Apparently, Primesite hasn’t verified that Ale has the correct answer, so we’re waiting on that one. Meanwhile, you can start on Ale’s one, since it seems it hasn’t been solved yet. Then, if those two get sorted out, we can get a new one.
I really think someone should be the ‘oficial’ of this game. missing_link is the obvious choice.
You could of course do what I’m doing, wait till it all gets sorted out.
Well, that is THE flying peanut, I´m talking about flying peanuts.
You may want to try the P.D mantra:
Who?
How?
When?
Why?
The “who” and “why” are the more relevant to this question.
By the way, Primesite, did I get it right this time?
Let’s just continue with Ales question which was:
New Rule : One has to wait for confirmation from the poster of the question before posting a new one.
Sorry for the long delay - my boss suddenly disapproves of netsurfing in the office.
Ale-
After careful re-examination of data, I’m declaring you correct.
Here is the cite I was using as the basis of my question (scroll down the page).
However, referencing your cite and it’s homepage, tells me that Mr. Freeman uses a hang glider to consistently win this event.
Since it’s unlikely that he enters the contest twice, it appears that I found a caption that doesn’t match the accompanying photo.
Besides, what are the odds that he could fly that far in those ridiculous boots?
So - my bad. You are the WINNER!
Carry on.
(Note to self - check data TWICE prior to posting next time!) :smack:
about 75 feet long
Does the happy I WON I WON dance
Ejem…
Keturah, nope; remember: Who? Why?
How about some more hints Ale?
Uhhmm wingspan of 13’’?
What’s a “Peanut Scale” model?
A Peanut Scale model is a rubber-powered flying scale model with a maximum wingspan of 13 inches. Peanut scale models were made popular in the 70’s and 80’s when the late Model Builder magazine (RIP) published a Peanut scale plan in the centerfold of almost every issue. They continue to be popular because of the limited amount of materials, building space, and storage space they require, and because they can be flown both indoors and outdoors.

where are we up to chaps and chapettes?
Chavardz got it right, congratulations.
Gracias Ale.
And with no further ado, I give you this little pearl:
The Man in Black (R.I.P.) was very patriotic. He used to ask that an american flag be hanged in evry show he did. What was the size of this flag? And since you’re looking, what was his favorite softdrink?
