FUN!! I was totally thinking about this topic this morning without reading this thread.
Anime:
Edward Elric: Hmm. If he heard that he could find Real Ultimate Power in Slytherin, then he’d be there. Its’ for a good cause though. Smart enough to be a Ravenclaw; brave enough to be a Gryffindor. I’m guessing Gryffindor.
Al Elric: Hufflepuff. Wicked brave and smart, but he’s very loyal.
Roy Mustang: Gryffindor.
Riza Hawkeye: My bed, I mean, Ravenclaw.
Maes Hughes: Hufflepuff.
Scar: Hufflepuff. A murder, sure, but not evil per se. Just misguided.
Shou Tucker: Slytherin, no doubt about it.
Kenshin Himura: Reformed Slytherin.
Kaoru: Hufflepuff.
Yahiko: Gryffindor.
Sanosuke: Reformed Slytherin.
Seijuro Hiko: Ravenclaw.
Shishio: Slytherin and loving it.
DC Comics (GLs, Flashes, and the Big Three):
Gryffindor: Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, Jay Garrick, Superman
Ravenclaw: Alan Scott, Ion
Hufflepuff: John Stewart, Barry Allen, Wally West, Wonder Woman
Slytherin: Guy Gardner, Batman, Parallax
Master Shake - Slytherin
Frylock - uhh… Ravenclaw? He’s smart. I can’t work out if he’s noble enough to be Gryffindor or whether the others just make him look noble.
Meatwad - Hufflepuff
Carl - Slytherin
Mooninites - Slytherin
**
Bender - Slytherin (“I’m starting my own Wizarding school! With Blackjack! And Hookers! Actually, forget the Wizarding School”)
Fry - Hufflepuff
Leela - Gryffindor
Amy - Gryffindor
Professor Farnsworth - Ravenclaw
Kif - Gryffindor (he’s the Neville Longbottom of the show)
Zap Branigan - Slytherin
Professor Wormstrum - Slytherin
Mom - Slytherin
Hermes - Hufflepuff (unless he’s already working for the Ministry)
Dr Zoidberg - Hufflepuff
Hedonismbot - Slytherin
Robot Devil - Slythern
Cubert Farnsworth - Slytherin
Scruffy - Gryffindor
Richard Nixon’s Head - Slytherin
Willow - Ravenclaw (Think age eleven.)
Xander - Hufflepuff (He’s loyal, and in the beginning of the series, I think he’s more Puff than Gryff.)
Wesley - Psycho Gryffindor. Reminds me a bit of Percy when he was on Buffy.
Giles - At age eleven? Defintely Slytherin.
Fred - Ravenclaw, duh.
Gunn - Gryffindor through and through.
Lorne - Hufflepuff
**Pythian Habenero ** has Liam and Faith down pat. Your analysis made me giggle.
Antigone (Haven’t read the rest of the trilogy)
Antigone - Gryffindor
Ismene - Hufflepuff
Haemon - Hmm. Gryffindor/Ravenclaw I think.
Tiresias - Remind you a bit of Dumbledore? Ravenclaw, I think.
Eurydice - Hufflepuff
Kreon - Gryffindor
Didn’t read the thread, so don’t know if this has been done, but:
Mike Brady: Hufflepuff
Carol Brady: Hufflepuff
Alice: Ravenclaw
Greg: Gryffindor
Peter: Slytherin
Bobby: Hufflepuff
Marcia: Slytherin
Jan: Gryffindor
Cindy: strangled at birth-oh, sorry, SQUIB…Hufflepuff.
Xander is definitely a Gryffindor. They’re chosen for their bravery, and he’s the bravest one in the Buffyverse, IMO. Think about it - no special powers like Buffy or Angel, no super-intelligence like Willow/Giles, no magic powers like Willow/Tara, no hidden past like Anya/Giles - yet he’s right there beside them in every battle, facing every demon, doing what he can to defend his friends. He’s a bit like Ron, or maybe Neville.
Granny Weatherwax though - tough one. My first thought was that she’s definitely Slytherine - she knows better than anyone just how strong her dark side is, and how hard she fights to control it. But then of course, she’s also really brave, and incredibly intelligent, so could also go into Gryff or Ravenclaw.
Couple more TP ones:
Archchancellor Ridcully - Gryffindor.
The Bursar - Hufflepuff.
The Patrician - Syltherine, of course, where else?!
CMOT Dibbler - Syltherine.
I always thought the defining characteristic of House Slytherin was personal ambition.
Because really, who the hell is going to go to a school that says “Oh yeah, and everyone in that house is evil, but we teach them spells anyway.”
Therefore…
Christopher Robin: Griffindor
Winnie: Slytherin
Eeyore: Slytherin
Piglet: Griffindor
Tigger: Hufflepuff
Owl: Ravenclaw
Kanga and Roo: Hufflepuff
I was always a Jan fan–never liked the skanky Marcia. (Cindy should have drowned at birth).
Sadly, there is no official Putz House–so there really isn’t a place for Greg.
Catherine of Aragon - Gryffindor
Anne Boleyn - Slytherin
Jane Seymour - Huffelpuff (some might say there’s a little Slytherin there)
Anne of Cleves - Huffelpuff
Katherine Howard - Slytherin
Katherine Parr - Ravenclaw
Sydney Bristow - Gryffin-claw (She’s extremely smart, but also very courageous and is willing to use her knowledge to do the right thing)
Jack Bristow - Ravenclaw; maybe Slytherin
Irina Derevko - Ravenclaw; maybe Slytherin (Both she and Jack are really smart, but they’re sneaky people…so I say it’s a toss-up)
Arvin Sloane - Slytherin (Duh. Not just because he’s evil, but also because he’s really cunning and ambitious.)
Michael Vaughn - Hufflepuff (Loyal to and protective of those he loves.)
Of course, if anyone would like to tweak my choices, please do so because I don’t think they’re extremely accurate.
Thanks for the compliment, but I don’t see where you’re getting some of your stuff. Specifically Xander and Willow. Giles too, but mostly Xander and Willow. They are Gryffindor. They are Gryffindor for the same reasons as Ron and Hermione, respectively. Why do you think they don’t belong in Gryffindor? As for Giles, he’s Ravenclaw. Possibly Gryffindor, definitely Gryffindor during the time he’s on the show, but Ravenclaw at eleven.
:dubious: Where do you get that? I’d put him in Hufflepuff, based on what I’ve seen of him in the Susan line.
:dubious: Why isn’t he in Ravenclaw?
By the way, I have an announcement to make. There is no Hogwarts house that ends in an E. The four houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Note - no E on the end of any of them. Please stop putting them there, as it hurts my brain muchly.
