Introducing new cat Molly. Um...Milo

Saturday I picked up a stray cat from a rescuer. Molly is a very sweet and cuddly Siamese mix. Today was her first vet visit for a check up, scan for a chip, FIV & FLeuk tests, vax and deworming. And to see if they could spot a spay tattoo, or did I need to make an appointment for a spay. The vet came out and told me Molly was skinny but healthy, oh, by the way, he’s now Milo.

Ummm.

Bearer of bad news, and all: THAT’S MY CAT!

I mean, yes I lost my sweet floofy kitty. She[He] just wandered off.

Incidentally his name is Geoffry.

(Seriously, adorbs!!)

I see nothing wrong with calling a male cat Molly.

As long as you call them for dinner.

Do I correctly gather that Milo doesn’t need a neutering appointment?

@Beckdawrek, did you really just lose a cat? Or am I missing a reference?

I have a female cat named Angus.

She hasn’t complained yet, neither has her sister Goose.

No, just joking.

My Siamese are safe, causing chaos as usual. We just recently had a meezer/glitter catastrophic meet up.

Sparklies are still allover the house 4 days later, after that moment of thoughtlessness of my Bear cat.

(Oh, heck what am I sayin’? He planned it)

Especially if you spell it Maul-y

Beautiful animal. Wishing you many happy years together!

Cat planning things, you say?

The result:

Very nice!

Vets performing sex changing surgery without asking the owner is going to upset some rednecks, I tell you!

We found a tiny all white kitten, very fluffy, left by it’s mother (who we fed) on our back porch. Quite sick, so we took “Princess” to the vet, After the staff finished cooing over it- super cute and precious- and giving it some medicine and special food (to take home), we found that Princess was a boy cat, then we named him Charming.

I would name an all white cat Blackie.
A black cat-Snowball

The orange ones should always be named “… And Jelly”.

One of the cats I adopted from my favorite shelter was a skinny old B&W tuxie who’d been surrendered to them with the name Greybeard.

Today for the first time, Milo jumped up on my lap. He’s been affectionate since the beginning, rubbing on my and trying to dash in front of me and kill me. But today he jumped up and started rubbing his face on mine. He also walked out into the larger part of the house amongst the dogs, until one starting barking. It’s all coming along.

Sexual ambiguity among cats seems to be quite common. I had a girl cat once that I named Orange Blossom that turned out to be a boy cat. I had to immediately rename him “OB”. A nice, masculine name with no particular meaning!

Very beautiful … erm, handsome. Wishing you and Molly/Milo many happy years of snuggling together.

(In my experience, cats acquire multiple names, so Milo may still answer to Molly. Or ignore you entirely.)

This is the best cat-naming story ever told!
