And turn the oil on full blast
It took more than 30 fuckin’ miles and over one hour to get some kerosene.
WTF!

Yes, I, too, pit having to shop for stuff.
Yes, WTF, indeed!
Blown & Injected, I don’t know what you were using the kerosene for, (heating?), but maybe you could use diesel fuel from a truck stop or gas station as a substitute. I know most stations carry #2 diesel, which isn’t as clean as kerosene, but it might work in a pinch.
I bet that kerosene was expensive, too. Not like it used to be in the ol’ days.
Do you want it cold when thrown over your claws and then set on fire, or do you want to have it already burning and thrown all over you.
Just asking to see how things must be arranged for you so that you are served the best way when invading SA.
I don’t care if you invade or not. Just do me a favor and call first. I hate it when people just show up unannounced.
Try switching to propane or natural gas. That way, we could lower SA’s dependency on western money and stop polluting Arab culture with our wealth. Then, guys like Aldy can go back to heating their dinner with camel shit, and we can all live in harmony.
You will never be positioned in such a manner as to dictate the way in which I may choose to heat my dinner. You cause me laughter and I curse your ancestral heritage. I shall hold a can of kerosene and light it on fire and then I shall throw it upon your carcass unless I cause myself to become inflamed in the pyre of revenge and honor.
Yes, it is for use in an unvented space heater so it must use K1.
See the rant about cold in Maryland in the Pit - damn heat pump sucks when it gets below 30*F. One would believe the fuel people would know to order more K1 in January and February.
Hey, next year you will have to go 60 miles and pay more. Shit ,lets send some boys to Venezuela.
Same here, and if you can give me 1 week notice so that I can tidy up around here.
What do we have to invade Saudi Arabia for? We’re already there.
I thought we left? http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0107947.html :
I always thought that the invasion of Iraq had a lot to do with getting a military base there so we could withdraw from SA.
::: Drives over to PSAB :::
Everyone gone, no USAF there now
::: Looks around rest of the Kingdom :::
ARCENT is gone too
Where did everyone go?
Oh yea, they went to Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq.
First it was being near the holy cities. Then it was the Arabian Peninsula, Africa, and the entire ME. UBL moved on to NY, Penn, and DC. There is some problem with Israel and the Jewish religion he wants to IRON out. He’s not big on American civilians either. Muslims that don’t bend far enough to his ideals, if you will, don’t fare very well either. Don’t stand in the wrong place at the wrong time regardless of your feelings about UBL.
I don’t think we can base our military far enough from the KSA to suit him.
Sure, Qatar isn’t exactly moving to Kansas – but you just can’t deal with Usama.
Seriously, the move out of the KSA was a not-so-subtle hint that the US was trying to change the overclose relationship with the too big, and often corrupt, Saudi royal family. Supporting democracy, and the Sauds, is a wee bit of a stretch.
I’m not saying the US wants to overthrow the Sauds, but reforms are needed. Some elements of Saudi foreign aid, let’s say, have come back to really bite us on the ass. The freedom situation in Saudi Arabia trails its neighbors. The clerics that both scare the royal family, and are supported by the royal family, are a thorny issue that only those in the area can work out. It won’t be easy.
Support for al Qaeda runs pretty high, depending on who you ask.
And, yes, since UBL specifically mentioned the troops in Saudi Arabia being near the holy cities as his first, and presumably major, objection – getting out wasn’t something people really opposed. Not that the DoD wanted to do what UBL said, mind you. They just had no reason not to.
Throw in Saudi objection to the troops, theocratic restrictions that chafed all the troops – especially women – and there was no reason to stay. Well, except Saddam. He was the raison d’etre in the first place.
Base realignment is going on all over the world. The general rule seems to be that if you complain enough, the US will leave. I know that’s sort of wimpy for the new imperial hyperpower. But, hey, we like the X Games, hacky sack, frisbee, and staring at lava lamps.
