RIP
Another great visionary lost ![]()
Aw, man. Please god, don’t take the guy who put the cheese in the Pizza Hut crust…
That is the suck.
I can’t really taste much of difference from the Nacho ones but the Cool Ranch and the Fiery are super good. I’m practically addicted to the fiery ones.
I’m tempted to say
but that would be insensitive to his friends and family so instead I’ll just wish them well in dealing with their grief.
I’ve never had one, and only found out about them a few months back. They sound great!
I’ll need to have one in Todd’s honour soon.
Imagine if his dream never materialized! Thank the gods that it did!!
RIP.
Cute picture of his daughter. Be nice if Taco Bell would kick a few bucks her way.
How shitty is it of Taco Bell not to give the guy any money for his idea? They make a billion dollars and he makes none? And when they found out he had cancer they donated a measly thousand dollars? Bastards!
Is there a commercially available Doritos taco shell at grocery stores?
If not, there should be.
It was a great idea and I think he deserved something more, being a “true friend” of the company and all.
Never knew the grass roots story behind this stuff. Super sad to hear he died of brain cancer and never got a dime from Taco Bell (nor even wanted a dime). A truly good person, with a good idea, who didn’t even care about money, but just wanted to see his idea come to life. And he got to see it before he died. Very sad that his two daughters have to go on without their daddy.
I want to say he should have asked for free tacos for life–but in this thread that would come across as a joke.
I’m o.k. with him not getting paid for the idea given that he was o.k. with it. He had a good job himself, and was happy to see his idea come to fruition.
But, the $1,000 donation Taco Bell made toward his treatment and medical expenses? That’s disgusting. They more than have the means to have made a meaningful and substantial contribution to this “friend of the company” whose idea had brought in significant profits.
If you have a problem with another poster, take it to the Pit, don’t make passive aggressive comments in an unrelated thread.
Thanks,

Well, it’s quite possible he wasn’t the first or only to come up with the idea. They might have just had it in the pipeline already when he wrote.
It’s Yum! Brands. The same people who own KFC and Pizza Hut. I’m not surprised at their less-than-generous behavior. These are the same people who got caught pumping illegal levels of antibiotics in their chickens in China.
Free tacos for life is no joke.
Yes. Yes you are.
Dear kindly Jeebus…
Shades of the SNL skit where the New York Lottery Commission learns the $100,000 a year for life winner is currently on Death Row. “We couldn’t be more pleased.”
Public support is what Todd used to pressure Taco Bell into adopting his idea. Maybe that same pressure could again be utilized to pressure them into making a more suitable donation to help offset his extraordinary expenses.
