iPhone - watching movies/listening to music with bluetooth headset?

I’m trying to watch a movie and have the audio come out of the bluetooth headset, which seems simple. I know when I’m on a call, I can watch a movie and have the audio also come through the headset (and the other person can hear it too!)

Is there any way to do this?

Unfortunately, the iPhone lacks the A2DP Bluetooth protocol which would allow this. There is some sort of hack that will give you mono sound over the iPhone Bluetooth, but I think that’s pretty unsatisfactory. You can plug a Bluetooth adapter or FM transmitter into the headphone jack to do what you want, but that can interfere with ease of phone calls.

I desperately want this as well and am hoping it will become available with a future SW update.

Mono sound is fine. I’m no audiophile. How do I go about doing it? I’ve updated to version 1.1.3, so I don’t know if I’d be able to. If I restore factory settings, will that roll it back to 1.1.2?

You’ll have research this a bit on the internets, but here is a link to get you started. I’m not sure which SW version is needed for the hack and, apparently, the music will also come out the iPhone’s built-in speaker as well as Bluetooth, so if all that doesn’t dissuade you, here you go.
