iPhoto on a Mac running OSX 10.10.5

So, I’ve got this used Mac Mini that has a fresh install of Yosemite. 10.10.5 .

I wish to use iPhoto. When I click the icon in my Dock, I get this message:

In order to open iPhoto you need to update to the latest version.

The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OSXYosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store.

Okay, I’m game. I clicked on the link to the App Store. Where I was told this:

.

Well. Apple. Ya’ll can go fuck yourself. I USE iPhoto. I live in the States. Why the hell would Apple have releases of iPhoto that work with Yosemite that cannot work on a release of Yosemite being run in the United States?

I swear to god I miss my Kaypro.

Anyone know how I can get a legal install of iPhoto onto this machine???

Many thanks,

Toons

While I believe it’s possible to get a version of iPhoto that will work with Yosemite, the error you’re seeing isn’t that other countries get iPhoto and the US doesn’t, the issue is that Apple dropped iPhoto in favor of the new Photos app when Yosemite came out. It’ salsa not available in the UK store, the Canadian store, or whatever store you happen to land on.

Jeeeez. Thank you.

Now, if I could make a wish to have anything fixed, it’s autocorrect’s tendency to take apostrophe-s and add the space in between. ‘It’ salsa’ = 'it’s also‘.
