I am very surprised to see that no one has picked up on this yet.
This article in the NY Daily News tells the tale of Brandon Vedas, 21, who popped pill after pill to prove how “hardcore” he was to his like minded druggie buddies on an internet message board. This predictably led to unconsousness and death.
As you can see, some of the shitbags who frequent this board actually are human beings with some sort of moral compass. They consider calling 911 or doing something to try and find the identity of the kid they were watching die in front of their eyes. However, most did nothing except to cheer him on as he slowly killed himself.
It’s fucksticks like these that make all online forums look to the general public like they are filled with psycos and losers. These shitlicking donkeys should be fucking prosecuted for their heinous indifference to human life. These people can all fucking drop dead right now and society would be better off. Fuck you all.
Not that Brandon seems deserving of any saving. What’s the matter, Ripper? Life just not exciting enough for you in Pheonix area these days?
It’s one thing if you want to fucking off yourself. I disagree with anyone taking their own life, but WTF? To each his own. But, for you to die from your own fucking stupidity, for nothing other than your own weakness of character is just sad. The only reason you seemed to do this was to impress a bunch of sick druggies that you don’t even know. Fuck you, putz.
How sad. How utterly sad. You have not a clue, my friend. Not one. There is much for you to learn about drugs, addiction and the human mind. Good luck in your endevour, although I rather think you won’t even stop to think about it.
Just to clarify, IRC isn’t a message board. It’s a realtime chat system, Internet Relay Chat. It was around loooong before we had these web-based message boards.
D’oh! Sorry for the double thread. I really did look before posting, but must have missed it. Duck Duck Goose, who said it was a suicide? The NYT article and the text of the actual chat room don’t tell the tale of a suicide but of an idiot who tries to impress everyone with his “high tolerance” of pills.

It’s my understanding that message boards were first, then IRC. Either way, the general public that I referred to doesn’t know the difference for the most part. It still reflects poorly on the internet in general as a method of communication and community.
You might want to be careful about saying things like this. There are people on this messageboard who cared about Brandon. Brandon was a deeply disturbed individual. Why does he elicit so much anger from you?
