We, my sisters and I, will be arriving in Dublin on Apr 27[sup]th[/sup], mid-morning time. Right now, I think we are planning on spending two nights in Dublin and then attempting to drive a U to Shannon Airport where we will fly out on May 5[sup]th[/sup]. I had been advised, though the search function won’t offer me any assistance on this, that we definately need to see the inside of a real Dublin pub. Pubs are a major classification of sites we wish to see.
So, who is game for a little drinking & general hanging out? Please let me know.
Ordinarily, I’d love to meet a visiting Doper for a pint. But it seems I will be in Leeds on those two days (back on Wednesday evening, but probably too late to realistically think of going out). Hope you both have a lot of fun though.
You would also do well to bump this on Tues as Good Friday is a holiday here and most people aren’t working. Monday is a bank holiday and so most people are off work. Wohoo and four day wkend. Don’t ya just love Jesus sometimes
As opposed to a make-believe rabbit and a candy binge? Heh, heh.
No smoking in bars. :shakes head: We’re not smokers. But that’s still a depressing thought.
Tell me about it. I smoke and used to love and I really mean love bars. Now? Meh it’s been a week since I was in one and it will probably be meeting you that gets me into the next one
I know. I’m a chainsmoker who loves going to pubs. Now it’s like sitting in the office canteen but with beer. Either that lurk in the backroom, among the kegs (with or without publican’s permission) with an illicit ciggie. We’re predicting a smoking ban baby boom because of this.
Hey, I just got your “location” tag. Very wicked!
I wouldn’t say it’s Cork city if it’s 5 hours each way by car. It’s quite hard to be 5 hours from Dublin by car. Though there are a few places in the west and southwest that could take 5 hours to get to/from.
