Bad news: During a gospel sing-a-long, she begins speaking in tongues and is born again. Upon her release she is appointed to replace Ted Haggard as the new president of the National Association of Evangelicals
IOW it would have been the easiest thing for her to follow the proper procedure, instead she decided this was her cue to show her scorn for the system…
You mean has anyone else been prosecuted in Florida for going to the correct precinct and upon being requested to fill out a change-of-address, immediately ducked out and returned to their old precinct and illegally voted? I dunno. You tell me. Y’all are the ones so freaked out about illegal voters; I’m sure you can cite that such prosecution has occurred.
So, you concede she is being unfairly persecuted. Good. We agree.
Otherwise, please provide an example of another person who has had election officials make public threats of lengthy jail time and ongoing investigations for someone voting out of the wrong district.
I suppose you have a cite for me being freaked illegal voters. May I see it?
If I could, I wouldn’t claim she is being singled out for persecution. If you disagree, please provide an example. Also please provide an example where an election official went public with such, and preferably threatened long jail time.
I’m not sure that this is accurate. The regstrar received a complaint months ago and tried to handle it through the mail. Coulter is reported to have ignored the first couple of letters, then her lawyer went public with a charge that the registrar had to procede in a manner dictated by her lawyer. Now, the lawyer claimed at that time that the registrar had made certain charges public, but I have not yet seen the evidence for that. For all that I have seen, some sharp reporter simply picked up a public record regarding election complaints. The statements from the registrar that recently made the news–nearly nine months after the registrar attempted to do this without news media involvement–have all seemed to be of the sort where a reporter sticks a microphone in the face of the registrar who simply reports what the law dictates for penalties, not a matter of calling a press conference to publicly humiliate Ms. Coulter.
I see no evidence of persecution when a lawyer obstructs an investigation, then calls a press conference to complain in public.
No, we don’t. You’re supposed to demonstrate that it is not normal for a voter who did what Coulter did to be prosecuted. If that is not demonstrable, then you cannot show that Coulter is being either singled out or persecuted.
From whom could the registrar possibly recieve a complaint???
He has gone public. Anderson is quoted on the subject of the investigation by the press.
Again. Where would this complaint have come from? Who would have access to the information necessary???
It looks more like he gave interviews to me, but if you wish to characterize it as a “microphone in the face” sort of question you should support that.
Have you been able to find another example of a person being prosecuted or investigated for this?
Ah yes, the well known liberal love for diversity and respecting other people’s opinions. Unless they disagree with yours, then the hate, bigotry, intimidation, threats and demonizing spews out full volume.
Here, I’ve gathered the extra that spilled out of that strawman you just made. You might want to use it to reinforce your creation; it’s kinda feeble and sagging to the right. Although it’s so old and moldy, I dunno if you can find any way to make it stand up.
