Yup…been happening since Friday. Actually, I’m finding it’s not just mail – no links off of Yahoo are working for me.
Thanks for the reply.
My computer is funny most of the time and I wasn’t sure if it was just me
No problems here - except for the usual ton of porn junk emails but what’s new there?
I have a few Yahoo accounts, but I only had problems with one. I thought it was just on my end, because when I came to work it worked fine (but hadn’t worked when I left the house this morning.) Incidentally, it was only the web-based email I was having a problem with - I could download it through Outlook with no problem.
Yep. Our Yahoo mail was down all weekend. The rest of Yahoo seemed to work ok. Very frustrating. It seems to be back up now.
I had the same problem (no access to Yahoo) until I finally disabled “Zone Alarm”. It was blocking my access.
Yeah, I’ve been getting “cannot find server” all weekend and into today still. My guess is because they recently switched to a new system, and it musty be having some bugs or they’re having trouble switching over.
I’m not having a problem with YMail, but I haven’t been able to get a single Yahoo News story link to work all day.
I read last Thursday that they and a few other sites run by Akamai were under a DOS attack. So either the attack or their countermeasures are probably the source of our difficulties.
Who know what it did to DNS…
On the same computer – I can access fine from home on my cable modem through Comcast, but can’t access from work through the corporate network connection.
I suspect its some sort of configuration issue in my network at work. I have no problems getting anywhere else though, so its strange.
I’ve seen intermittent problems since they upgraded to their new spiffier version. For example, all Thursday, the buttons in the interface didn’t do anything. The regular links were fine, but the buttons were nonfunctional. So I could read all the mail I wanted, I just couldn’t reply to or delete anything. It was fine the next day.
The new system plus the DOS attacks: I’d expect lots of issues in the next few days.
I’ve had display issues since the upgrade but ony when using IE. Using Safari everything seems to be OK.
Thanks, it’s been driving me mad. I’ll try Safari.
I’m on a group there and had been getting about 40-60 emails a day for a while, and then it just stopped abruptly. Other people in the group are still getting their messages, so I don’t know what’s going on.
I’ve had no problems, with groups or mail - at least not with the account I actually checked over the weekend.
My buttons have been partially nonfunctional since the upgrade. Some of 'em work, and some of 'em don’t, and it’s been fun guessing which.
This may be of some use…on the other hand, it might not. The page shows you how to contact a Customer Care person after you’ve tried to find an answer/solution to your problem/question.
Good luck

I have problems with the buttons sometimes, and then other times they work.
I’ve also had trouble moving messages to folders. Maybe just some kinks that have to be worked out?
i just tried out Yahoo’s new mail and man it is COVERED in advertisements…sheesh!
