You’d think my boyfriend is a bigot by all the ethnic slurs he uses but I think it’s really just the way they spoke where he grew up. Most of our (well, really his) friends do the same around each other.Everybody is a jock or a boghopper or a Paki but nobody actually has any actual hatred as far as I can tell. It’s simply not a big deal to them
My Brother and my Dad. They both know better than to spew that crap around me, but I sometimes still catch them at it when I walk into a room. That particular part of them makes me sick; and contributes to the fact that our visits are shortish and far between.
The fact that our Great-Grandmother was a slave in Georgia seems to make no difference to my brother; and the conenction to his children makes no difference to my Dad.
