Look, the only celebs that really count nowadays are Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie. And they only way any of them would post or even LURK here was if it was part of a community service sentence. (Yes, for them it would be punishment.)
And if she married Jim Beaver, she’d be Eve Golden-Beaver
Hey, don’t kick me! She said it first.
We’re well-known now? Cool!
I’m a lumberjack (not really).
I’ve met giantfreakinmarine, and he isn’t Drew.
A year or two ago someone linked to a Drew Carey video and said it was the funniest thing ever. I watched it and it was, well not the funniest thng ever. I wonder…
Actually, we’re very funny, you just don’t get our humor.
But do you put on women’s clothing and hang around in bars anyway?
Yeah it seems like you guys are more into practical jokes. Which explains a lot of your candidates.
I resent that.
Spartacus
omg, I just sneezed Monster out my nose. Thank you Straight Dope and Sam, no one else has ever made me do that.
No, I don’t think he’s a member.
Drawing any conclusion about a person’s membership here because of something they said in real life is stupid. I think the reasons given in the OP are completely retarded. . .because he’s intelligent, and intelligent people hang out here? There’s about 5 things wrong with that statement.
The airplane/treadmill thing has been done to death, everywhere.
Furthermore, the 5000+ members (even include occasional guests) is an amazingly small number. I don’t think people get just how small that is. That’s the size of a small town in freakin’ northern Maine.
I’m actually surprised that someone the size of Jim Beaver ever even made it through here.
Jesus, if a guy showed up who said he filled in at keyboard at a Pat Benator concert once in 1982 because the real player got food poisoning, I’d be impressed.
Don’t you mean “Whose Line is it Anyway?”
The only time I’ve heard of this happening is when someone was kicking ass about all the negative reviews of the “RENT” movie in a theatre forum, and someone realized the poster in question was Anthony Rapp, one of the stars of the movie. It did not endure him to people to see him insulting everyone who didn’t like the movie.
I like Penn Gillette’s work but from what he’s written about himself, he seems to enjoy his celebrity status too much to want to be an anonymous poster here or anywhere else.
Mike Rabon, of The Five Americans, was a regular poster here for a long time.
I think he was making a joke.
I once started a thread questioning whether a strip from Multiplex was making an anti-semitic joke. The strip’s writer, Gordon McAlpin, showed up to defend his work.
There are 70,000 registered members. While I don’t doubt that the 5,000 regulars probably doesn’t include too many celebrities (hi Al!), I’d wager a good bit of money that a few of those 70,000 are famous folks who have registered, posted and let their membership lapse.
Nah. 68,000 of them are socks who join up 680 times each and have to be chased away by frustrated mods screaming, get off my lawn you damn kids!
You’re all missing the important point: the plane WILL take off!

Okay, knowing that the man who played Mr. Ellsworth has posted here tickles me way more than it probably should.
I’ve been mistaken for a celebrity a few times in recent years. Does that count??
