What celebrities *could* be dopers? Who would surprise you most?

In this thread a few people, including myself, expressed surprise at Paris Hilton’s witty response to John McCain’s recent ad, and also at that she’s not as dumb as she might appear. It got me wondering idly if she might ever stop by the SDMB to see what people were saying about her, and then realized that (based on what I saw in the ad, at least) that might not surprise me too much. But others here might be flabbergasted?

I know we’ve had speculative threads about whether we have celebrities posting here. But I thought I might open the question of who could be here based on what we know, and who might be the most surprising candidate. (Before today, Paris Hilton surely?)

Didn’t someone here once point out that Ben Stiller made a public reference to Cecil? I think it was Ben Stiller.

You’ll never guess who I am.

I could see Ben Stiller getting suspended or banned for obnoxiousness. Does he love dogs?

Mojo Pin, I’ve got you pegged. You’re really Margaret Cho.

To head it off at the pass. It’s a known fact that at the very least Weird Al lurks here.

Oh, we know who you are all right. IIRC, you have the 10th highest rated English language, public access, Korean/Vietnamese fusion cooking show in your section of Seoul. I have always wanted to ask for an autograph but never got up the nerve.

No - that was me. You can buy my autograph on eBay, if you like…

Mr. Moto is George Bush.

Not possible. The mods ban sock puppets.

Looks at location field

[Stephen Colbert voice]RAAAAIIIINNN!!![/Stephen Colbert voice]

Nope. George Bush was never in the Navy, never went to Pitt, and never was a Jeopardy contestant. He and I both have twins and are Republicans - that’s about all we have in common.

Thanks for thinking of me, though. That’s flattering.

Stephen Hawking ought to be a member.

Wil Wheaton is smart, funny and self-deprecating. He’s an active blogger. I could see him fitting in with Doper culture.

It wouldn’t surprise me if some Washington-type media at least lurk around the boards once in awhile. We probably don’t get the big hitters, but I’d like to think Alison Stewart or Rachel Maddow are looking at this thread.

Who would surprise me? Either of the Olson twins.

I was going to suggest Wil Wheaton also, since he is active on Fark.com, but I think he would identify himself just as he does on Fark…

I think the SDMB is one of the best boards on the net…just brilliant, quality, intelligent, funny discussion…with the inevitable dash of crap and ignorance…but that’s unavoidable… So if I was famous, but a little sick of people always talking to me differently because I am famous, I would love a place like this…well, unless I already had a wonderful insightful intelligent circle of friends…then why would I need you guys?

Hmm… I am sure Harrison Ford lurks.

I am! Shall I do my voice?

Alton Brown seems our speed.

I don’t know if I can justify it having its own thread, but I also wonder if anyone else such as Boyo Jim was first a Doper and THEN became a celebrity.

Neil Gaiman has at least lurked, but it was three or four years ago that I knew about that.

I remember Weird Al citing Cecil Adams about a year ago, though I can’t find the interview/article.

Having said that, Paris Hilton is the least likely Doper. This board and site require being intelligent, literate, and open.

She’s only good at one of those, and not in the right way.

He’s an active geocacher as well.

I’d love to see posts from Sean Connery here on the Dope.
