Well, the real hoot is that in this ‘checks and balances system’, he doesn’t ‘run’ the country. Congress likes to overlook the fact that they must support him or alot of what he wishes for, from economics to invasions, must have some of their support. While it is slightly tilted in his favor, some if his biggest opponents have supported the top three or four things he is known for.
Is he a dunderhead? Maybe. But he has dopes from both political parties that have empowered him on different fronts.

Perhaps we have only to look to the first Scottish Prime Minister of England, one John Stuart - the Earl of Bute as one of the party directly responsible for the American Revolution, and thus, eventually making possible the presidency of Dubya. Bute was the man, most identified in those days, as the source of the troubles between England and its colony and was widely regarded with contempt for the stupid policies and actions he advised King George to endorse.

Whipping Boy, what is your point in launching this thread? If your objective is to bash Bush, well, get in line. If you’ve spent any time at all on this board, I’m sure you’ve noticed that there’s plenty of complaints about Bush to go around, most of them expressed in far more eloquent a manner than your OP.
