is George Dubya Bush an imbecile

Which did you leave out, the comma or the “r”?

A. It’s “composed of”, you “ass-hat.”

B. It’s “composed of” your “ass-hat.”

C. It’s “composed of” you, “ass-hat.”

Good point, ruadh. And I’ll gladly conceed it, because as you said, it doesn’t make whippingboy any less of an asshat to be technically accurate on this single point.

Aah. I am also from Scotland…the OP is an idiot. We’re not all like that. Really.

A. The comma before address.

Hmmm… since Texas was largely settled by Scottish immigrants a few centuries back, what are the chances that we see in whippingboy an example of how someone with GWB’s unique genetic, linguistic, and intellectual deficiencies would fare without generations of privilige to prop him up?

The problem is that our President can in fact find his Ares, has a hard time keeping both hands off of it.

Ching! Ching! Take that, Saddam bin Laden! Haha!”

Hey, George W. Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut. Leave us out of it!

About as good as it feels to live in a country wherein the major source of news makes inaccurate statements in an attempt to slander the government simply because of policy differences.

It seems that whippingboy is the reason that Scots are getting their sharp-things privileges revoked.

*comᄋprise v. –tr. comᄋprised, comᄋprisᄋing, comᄋprisᄋes. 1. To consist of; be composed of: “The French got… French Equatorial Africa, comprising several territories” (Alex Shoumatoff). *
–American Heritage Dictionary

Somebody tell those asshats at the American Heritage Dictionary they don’t understand the English language!

Lord knows I’m not a fan of the Bush Administration, and four more years of the True Axis of Evil scares the crap out of me, but none of that changes the fact that you, whippingboy, are a fool.

On my visit I found Scotland to be a very pretty Administrative Division, even if it puts up statues of Mel Gibson.

God knows it wouldn’t be the first time.

Huh? AHED got it right here: “The United Kingdom is composed of” and “the United Kingdom comprises” are equally correct, and have the same meaning, at least where I’m from. I’m with the dictionary on this one. (“The United Kingdom is comprised of” seems to be a common error, but it’s at best non-standard, and if you use it in formal writing you’re gonna look like a durn fool.)

Let’s not do that. I couldn’t say much about Scottish history, but I suspect most of those references are quite old - you don’t have to go back that far to find Andrew Jackson’s genocide of the Cherokees and Seminoles.

Note that I’m a Merkin - but I don’t think it’s fair to compare a current leader (and Dubya’s . . . well . . . probably not my first pick for the job) to historical ones, because every country’s got some blood on its hands.

ok so you all think I’m am an idiot and I probably spoke out of turn , but I have had the unfortunate pleasure to have met some very ignorant and unpleasant Americans on my travels (I have also met ignorant and unpleasant Scots English and French etc) I work in the oil industry which could explain it …or not .I’m sure I will be corrected no matter what I write … I apologies for taking a pop at Americans and generalising you all together…

… I asked a genuine question ( possibly in the wrong way) …George Bush comes across as not the cleverest or most articulate man in the world and I wondered how the general American public felt about being governed by him , I am assuming he is just a figure head and his backroom staff actually run the country …or am I mistaken again.

Once again I will apologise for spelling and punctuation etc because no doubt it is wrong…

No. The issue is that you wrapped yourself up in some self righteous idiocy and smeared 270 million people. As to the crosses you bear, big fucking deal. Grab a spell checker and learn how to write. My cousins all seem to be able to do that with great success, so it’s not a general failing of the Scottish educational system. Hey look! I just showed how special you are.

As to Bush, he strikes me of being of average intelligence. Hardly a great failing given the genius displayed so far by the OP.

And yet…

Do you not see the contradiction?

Some love him and some hate him. And it’s probably split pretty evenly (50/50).

Look here and here if you want some actual data (and note how it varies over time).

We actually have a secret Council of Elders (formerly known as the Bilderbergers) who run things from their ultra-top-secret headquarters atop Mount Washington (that’s in New Hampshire). But don’t tell anybody.

Bush has been a bad president because of his policies and lack of initiative in key areas, not because he is not “the cleverest or most articulate man in the world”. There are quite a few venom-spitting critics in the U.S. who still harp on his stupidity and consistently underestimate him as a result.

I believe the Scots have a burr.

It’s the Irish who have a brogue.

Is George Dubya Bush and imbecile?

YES!
