It seems in the past coupla seasons there’ve been more than a few references to a possible gay side in Homer. Last season had him observing his co-workers as they showered and cursing “stupid sexy Flanders!”, among others. Then there was the horoscope thing in this year’s Treehouse of Horror. Are they slowly introducing this, or what? Then you look at that episode where he thinks Bart’s gay and you don’t know what to think. I think turning Homer gay would be a pretty lousy plot device, personally.
Virtually all of Springfield have displayed homosexual tendencies. In the past we’ve seen:
Bart put on a wig and lip-synch to Motown records.
Bart wearing high-heels and girlie socks.
Principal Skinner reading from Milhouse’s file that he has “blatant homosexual tendencies.”
Barney and Otto join a cult and get married (Otto: Remember…I’m the man! Barney: Right! You the man!)
Homer wander into a gay steel factory.
Homer wander into a lesbian bar.
Flanders (in a futuristic episode) thanking Bart for not outing Rod & Todd.
Of course, no need to mention Flanders since he’s pretty open about his sexuality.
They’re all gay.
But, then again, everyone has had a substance abuse problem (drugs and such):
Homer and alcohol.
Homer and toad licking.
Marge drank some “spiked” water and watched as her kitched “melted”.
Lisa on nitrous.
Lisa after drinking the water at the Duff tour thought she was the Lizard Queen.
Bart and Milhouse got high on a sugary drink.
Maggie on sugar.
Lisa and the pep pills when Santas Little Helper gets a credit card.
Blasphemy.
Well he did think that Oliver North was just poured into that uniform 
Puh-LEEZE! Don’t we gay people have enough problems, without him?

And of course, we all know Homer isn’t into wearing women’s clothing. Except for the underwear, which is strictly a comfort issue.
Flanders is gay?

Flanders is Christian. They’re not allowed to be gay.
(I know I’m gonna get flamed for this one…) 
Don’t forget Grampa Simpson, who is always having dreams and memories of dressing up like a Wild West showgirl or a Berlin cabaret singer . . .
But he did wear a wedding dress when Marge was in jail.
Well, he did list the glory hole as one of man’s great accomplishments in the last episode.
I also fell out of the sofa when Kent Brockman enthused, “Now we’ll all be taking golden showers!”
They get away with a LOT on that show . . .
If Homer’s gay, then he mostly certainly is a “top” -

There was an episode where either Patty or Selma saw Homer naked and said “There goes the remaining shred of my hetrosexuality,” but it was also a Halloween episode, so nothing that happens affects the entire show. . .
Lizard? I thought it was Livid, ya know from seeing all the pretty colors and such. Then again, she did look kinda green later on!
